Update on MCCH Shelter Facilities
Our staff and clients faced many challenges during 2019 regarding our former campus on Gude Drive. This article from Bethesda Magazine gives a comprehensive overview of the past year and shares how we are working with the county to ensure compassionate care for our clients and safe working environments for our staff as we move forward.

Making a Difference Through the Annual Homeless Census
Last month, MCCH staff, caring community members, and service providers participated in the Point In Time (PIT) count throughout Montgomery County, as part of a nationwide HUD mandated annual census of all people experiencing homelessness. The PIT count helps communities identify the specific needs of the homeless population in their area and how best to serve them.

This event is also an amazing outreach opportunity to help connect people experiencing homelessness to services. Councilmembers Evan Glass and Craig Rice and their volunteer team found a man shaking in the cold near the Rockville Metro station. They helped him find transportation to our men's emergency shelter where he would be given shelter and start the process of ending his homelessness.

Thanks to everyone who volunteered during the PIT Count this year! You are truly helping end homelessness in our community.
Donors Making a Difference
Our Urgent Needs Task Force Facebook group connects caring community members with MCCH clients who are in need of items to end their homelessness or thrive after ending their homelessness.

Our Urgent Needs Task Force group provided over $1,300 worth of donations last month! Although it may seem like a small gesture, donating these items shows our clients that their community cares about them. When recovering from the trauma of homelessness, that reminder can be a glimmer of light in the darkness.

You can make a difference in 2020 by joining our Facebook group today and bringing hope to the people we serve all year long!
Thank you for your commitment to ensuring that all Montgomery County residents have a safe, stable and affordable place to call home!
