Hello, awesome ones!
It's New Year's week and the train is moving forward to 2025, whether we're ready or not! If January 1st was only like a Monopoly board and we could collect $200 for passing GO!? 😆
Most of us are thinking of ways we can change things we've been meaning to do, rejoining the gym or creating some new form of healthier habits. First question- are the leftover cookies and holiday dishes still hanging around your kitchen?
That's the thing, recognizing the cue is the first step in changing habits. Consider all the cues currently in your kitchen view, even if it isn't leftover treats. What's around that you can see? Are there reminders of the healthier choice or the less healthy one? When you open your fridge, what's the first thing you see?
Focusing on just this one piece of the equation can be eye opening for what we do next. (same for activity and hydrating) Is your water bottle somewhere cueing you to drink up ? Your shoes or outfit reminding you to get on the treadmill or drive to the gym? The weights set out at home where you can see them?
What cues do you need to put in place to make the habit easier?
Starting with small changes builds our confidence and gives us proof points that we CAN change. ⭐🌱
Christmas recap🎄
Everything is going by so quickly! I sure want to bottle up all the time with the kids, which seems so rare since they are all grown and flown. Liam's first Christmas was fun. (grandbaby, 6 months old) Santa brought him personalized books, apparently encouraging his first book club. 😆 Other highlights were going to see "Wicked" with my oldest daughter and getting avocado slippers from Santa. (nailed it)
Being present was the real joy. Grateful for a full nest and shared, fun memories. 🙏🏻
