As the year comes to a close, we at the Houston-Galveston Area Council want to take a moment to thank our community, partners, and stakeholders for your continued collaboration and support. This season is a reminder of the strength we build together, and the progress we achieve when we work as one.

Local Officials Elected to Represent Cities and

School Districts on H-GAC Board

H-GAC announces the appointment of new delegates to its 2026 board of directors following recent city and school district caucus meetings. The board guides regional collaboration and advances programs benefiting communities across H-GAC’s 13-county region.

General Law Cities

Pattison Councilmember Joe Garcia (right) and Waller City Councilmember Nancy Arnold (center) have been elected as voting members of the H-GAC board. Their alternates are Councilmember and Mayor Pro Tem Susan Schwartz of Bunker Hill (left) and Daisetta City Councilmember Ryan Taylor (not pictured).


Home Rule Cities

Bellaire Councilmember Ross Gordon (center-right) and Manvel Mayor Dan Davis (center left) have been elected as voting members, with Cleveland City Councilmember Desiree David (left) and La Marque Mayor Pro Tem Joe Compian (right) serving as alternates.




Independent School Districts

Huntsville ISD Trustee Rissie Owens (right) will serve as a board member representing school districts, with Fort Bend ISD Trustee Angie Wierzbicki (left) as her alternate.

All representatives were elected from H-GAC’s General Assembly.


The H-GAC Board of Directors is comprised of 38 elected officials representing 13 counties, 111 cities, and 11 school districts. The board fosters collaboration among local governments on programs spanning transportation planning, rural 9-1-1 services, workforce development, aging and disability resources, and disaster recovery initiatives.
