MTB Boletín en Español

March has been focused on navigating new pathways.

At the beginning of the month, we had a guest speaker who asked our Fellows to rethink the conversation about college majors. She asked them to focus on the problems in the world that they want to try to address rather than the jobs they want to get or the classes they want to take.

We ended the month looking ahead.

Our Junior Fellows presented their preliminary college lists. Here's an awesome comment from a Leader about the session: "I loved hearing their lists and admired how well-balanced they were! The Fellows are not afraid of taking chances, but are still wise enough to consider suboptimal scenarios and cover for those too. I know they will do a wonderful job in choosing for college if they keep this up!"

Our Senior Fellows are considering the transition to College Student Leader and lead our efforts to recruit the newest cohort of MTB Fellows, rising sophomores.

The Major Conversation

It's understandable that families want our students to be successful in college, not waste time or money, and end up securing a solid career. However, spending some time in college exploring is normal. Here, MTB Program Resource Fellow Reka and Social Work Intern Ayana model how students can have a productive conversation about the college major.

Recruiting New Fellows

We are looking for our next cohort of High School Fellows. Rising juniors (current sophomores) from PHS, PASE, and Prep are invited to apply.
