From CyberStart to Cybersecurity Success: Amitoj’s Journey

Amitoj, a former Grade 12 student from Chinguacousy Secondary School, was introduced to the RBC-funded CyberStart Canada program in 2023. Over a span of 4–5 weeks that summer, he completed the entire course, mastering all game challenges independently—an achievement few globally have matched.

His outstanding performance led the Rogers Cybersecure Catalyst to connect him with their partners at SANS, who fully funded his enrollment in high-intensity cybersecurity training programs, including:

  • SEC275 + GFACT
  • SEC401 + GSEC
  • SEC565 + GRTP

These certifications—worth approximately $25,000—would have otherwise been inaccessible.

Amitoj has since pursued further cybersecurity certifications and is currently attending York University for Information Technology.

In May 2025, he joined RBC’s Co-op Program under the Senior Director of Adversary Emulation—bringing his journey full circle through Catalyst’s continued support!
