A new organization has formed to develop a non-profit child care center in Pendleton, to meet the community's needs for child care.

The Pendleton Children's Center board of directors is committed to creating a high-quality center for the children of parents who are working or attending college. The Center will be funded by fees paid by parents on a sliding scale according to household income, support from local businesses and organizations, grants and donations.

In November, the board members will begin assessing the child care needs of employers and employees in the Pendleton area with an online survey as well as studying the existing child care options in the area.

For more information, email  info@pendletonchildrenscenter.org or call board secretary Kathryn Brown at 541-278-2667.
