The Erie County Stay Fit Dining Program will be running Mondays through Friday. Make sure7 to check out the menu on our website.

Seniors 60+ recommended donation of $3.50,

all others mandatory $7.50.


Monday 10/06- Hearty beef stew, mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts, warm biscuit, vanilla pudding.


Tuesday 10/07- OKTOBERFEST- Polish sausage w/sauerkraut & mustard on a bun, German potato salad, au gratin broccoli, apple pie w/whipped topping.


Wednesday 10/08- Breaded chicken cutlet w/buffalo sauce on a bun, tater tots, peas w/red pepper, fresh banana, chocolate milk.


Thursday 10/09- Roasted turkey w/stuffing, gravy & cranberry sauce, mashed butternut squash, corn, chef salad w/dressing, mandarin oranges.


Friday10/10- Omelet w/cheese sauce, potatoes O'Brien, green beans, raisin bread, tropical fruit.

Lifelong Learning!

Erie County’s Department of Aging’s University Express returns for the Fall Semester. Join us on Fridays from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm for these informative and entertaining classes. Make sure to order lunch when you register for the class at the front desk.

A look at how 10 films changed the way movies were made.

October 24—Medication Management for Seniors

Sarah Hopseker          

This class is intended to discuss common issues seniors may face regarding their medications. Topics will include tips for medication adherence, minimizing common side effects, and general medication issues.


October 31—Benefits BINGO        

Moira Mycio    

Play Benefits Bingo to learn about programs and services available in a Bingo format! Win prizes and have some fun :-).

 

Erie County Department of Aging’s University Express returns for the Fall Semester and brings with it a new selection of Wednesday Workshops for your to enjoy. All workshops begin at 1 PM unless otherwise noted. Sign up for lunch beforehand when you register for class at the front desk.


October 8—Transforming Anxiety into Peaceful Flow

Sherry Lyn Hartel

An introductory workshop to transform negative emotions into a flow state of peace using various ancient techniques. (Class may run 90 minutes)


October 15—Introduction to Healing Touch

Kathryn Frankiewich

A relaxing energy therapy that uses intentional touch to promote physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This fun, interactive workshop lets you give and receive treatments while seated in a chair.

 

October 22—Spice up the Holidays          

Pati Aine Guzinski     

Explore how to use herbs and spices to enhance holiday meals and add fragrance to your home. Includes hands-on activities such as creating a stove-top simmer bag.  

                      

October 29—Rock on! Learn about stones & craft bracelet             

Jennifer Chowdhury Noon-2 PM

Learn about stones and make your own bracelet. We will have semi-precious gemstones and know about the meaning of the stone, how it can help in healing, and make a fun bracelet to wear. It will help with hand and mind coordination, be therapeutic, bring creativity, and offer socializing while having fun.

 

Health & Wellness!

Mindful Movement & Guided Meditation

Mondays 10AM- 11AM

You will be guided through some gentle, chair based movement focused on connecting the breath and the body. This will be followed by a short guided relaxation and finish the class by guiding you through a themed meditation. This practice can help ease anxiety and stress. Increase focus, positive feelings and improve overall mood. $3 for members, $5 for non-members.

Better Body Balance

Tuesdays 10 AM- 11 AM

"Better Body Balance" is a specially designed program aimed at seniors who are looking to improve their physical fitness, enhance their strength, and maintain better balance. It's ideal for beginners and is tailored to address the unique needs and concerns of older adults. $3 for members, $5 for non-members.

Move & Groove Dance Class

Wednesdays 10AM- 11AM

We warm up and then get moving to some fun medium tempo music from your favorite artists. We work on building strength using light weights as well as balance & coordination. All movements can be done seated in a chair or standing. Every class ends with a cool down, stretches and a smile. FREE.

Chair Yoga Thursday

Thursdays 10 AM- 11 AM

Guide you through this gentle chair yoga class that includes simple breath work, seated poses, standing poses using the chair for support and a guided relaxation at the end. This class is beginner friendly. You will leave the class feeling refreshed, relaxed and happy! $3 for members, $5 for non-members.

Friday Fitness

Fridays 10 AM- 11 AM

Shake your groove thing in this accessible fitness class. We will warm-up and get moving to some great music from all different decades. Routines are simple, easy to follow and lots of fun! All movements can be done seated in a chair or standing and are beginner friendly. $3 for members, $5 for non-members.

Walking Club

Monday-Friday

9:00 AM- 10:00 AM

The Gym @ Tosh Collins has started a walking club for seniors Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. If you need to warm up before our daily exercise class, walk around the gym for 30 minutes. Free.

Blood Pressure Check

Friday, October 24th

10:30 am -11:30 am


Nurse Marcy will be in checking blood pressures. Make sure to take advantage of this monthly service!

Join Team Tosh Collins as we compete again other Senior Centers across Erie County in 3 rounds of trivia. Team Tosh Collins is the reigning Trivia Champions but need your help to keep the top spot. Register with Mary today!

Nickels - Rummy

Mondays 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Due to popular demand, another exciting card game is coming to Tosh Collins! Join us for nickels (otherwise known as Nickel Nickel) on Monday afternoons. For those

unfamiliar with the game, Nickels is similar to Rummy, with the twist of betting nickels. So bring in your nickel collection and come join us for another thrilling card games experience!

BINGO is back TWICE a week, better than ever! Join us for lunch on Tuesdays and Fridays and stay for BINGO. Prizes for every winner and a 50/50 drawing!

Wii Bowling
Wednesdays
12:30 PM - 2 PM
Wii Bowling has EXPANDED! We now have two game systems so we can have TWO LANES of bowling at a time for a total of 8 people. If you want to come watch some of our bowling experts, stop by between 12:30 to 2:00 pm. We promise, you’ll have a lot of fun! Bowling shirts are encouraged!

PINOCHLE

Wednesdays

12:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Pinochle a trick-taking ace–ten card game, typically for two to four players and played with a 48-card deck. Wednesday from 12:30 to 3 pm

 

 

Poker

Thursdays

12:30 PM - 3:30 PM

Join us for Texas Hold Em’ Poker - Beginners are welcome. We will be using nickels to gamble with so don’t forget to bring in your nickels or bring in a couple dollars and we can give you change. The format is Sit & Go so participants can join and leave when needed. Max bet for a hand is 25 cents and we will be playing with one blind which will stay at 1 nickel. No need to RSVP!

Silver Pride Senior Social

2nd Friday of the month

The Silver Pride Senior Social is all about creating better conversations & improving social engagement with older members of the LGBTQ+ community. By understanding people’s experiences, we can facilitate greater social connectivity & improve social inclusion. It's an opportunity for LGBTQ+ seniors to come together and enjoy a morning of refreshments and conversation! Just a couple things to know for the Pantry:
  • You must be 60 years old
  • Must live in 14220 and surrounding areas
  • Must have a lower income
  • You may come in one time a week to receive food. All food received is nonperishable.

  • Mondays: 1PM - 3PM
  • Wednesdays: 9AM - 11:30AM


Donations are accepted: 

  • Monday through Friday from 8AM - 4PM
