"Financial Planning as a Tool of God's Grace." This Sunday, our Forum series continues with two trained financial advisers
Sunday, October 14, 10 AM, Parlor
Do you have questions about saving for college or retirement ? Interested in learning how tax reform impacts you and your giving? Are you looking to try to put your financial wellbeing in perspective?

Please join us for a special session with certified financial planners Jeff Mussatt and Tom Gates this Sunday at 10 AM as they discuss planning for your financial future and take your questions.

As we think about everything belonging to God, we also have to think about our many financial commitments and how to make those work together for good. Take advantage of some help.
Remembering All Saints
Our faith teaches us that we are all in God’s communion of saints. We celebrate this gift on Sunday, November 4. I f you would like a loved one remembered in our reciting of the names of those we honor and love but see no longer, please email Penny by Sunday, October 28.
Called to serve on Vestry?
The Vestry (our governing board) is currently taking nominations to serve a three-year term, starting January 2019. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else, first secure the person’s permission, then email Rev. Shirley before October 22 . Each year, the vestry identifies skills and experience particularly helpful to upcoming work. Read more about these by clicking below...
Save the date, Sunday, November 4, for a special time together
Come join us for a fun, positive and powerful group experience called Asset Mapping . Recognize your personal assets (gifts, strengths, passions) and see how they become more valuable when matched with others! When we join these assets together, amazing things can happen in our church, community, and the world around us.

Please make plans to join us on Sunday, November 4, 5:00-6:30 PM for a special asset mapping exercise and dinner to follow.
When kids learn through adventure, they learn for life. All boys & girls K-5 are invited to join Cub Scouts!
Cub Scouting is fun for the whole family. It’s hands-on learning and achievement that puts kids in the middle of the action and prepares them for today – and for life.

Two thriving Scout Packs meet here at Christ Church and we are blessed by their presence. Cub Scout Pack 788 is having an open enrollment period. All girls and boys in Grades K-5 are invited to attend the next meetings on October 15 and/or October 22 in the Garage Youth Building . Come see what scouting is all about!

For more information, please contact Rev. Richard Pelkey or call the 788 Cub Master, Jon Taylor, at 804-337-7002.
The Christmas Pageant is fun and easy for kids & teens and rehearsals start soon!
Kids age 5 through 12th grade are invited to participate in the Children's Christmas pageant.

Rehearsals begin Wednesday, October 24 at 6:30-7:30 PM and the Christmas Pageant will be on Sunday, December 16 at 9:00 AM.

Yes, you read that right...Sunday! Every Sunday we hear the acts of God through Holy Scripture and expounded on through the message, in addition to raising our voices in song. Well, the "greatest story ever told" is the nativity, and our music ministry is bringing it to you, live on Sunday, December 16 at the 9:00 AM service. Pageant + Holy Communion = a great celebration of God.

This year’s pageant is easy and fun, all while teaching children that when it comes to the greatest story ever told, the joy is just beginning!

Register in advance if you can, or just come to the first rehearsal. To register, click “Events” in Realm and look for “October 24 Pageant Rehearsals” —
or email Laura McNally.

A new purpose for the little white shed
Christ is always making old things new. Since the CARITAS ministry no longer needs a donations shed at CCE, we are re-purposing the shed for our Boy Scout Troop 788. Thank you to all who have contributed furniture over the years. Please help spread the word that we are no longer accepting donations and that we actually have to pay to remove anything that is left. We encourage you to support the new CARITAS Furniture Bank at 1108 Gordon Avenue.   Please call ahead before you drop off items: (804) 358-0964 Ext: 401.
