Small town charm with access to larger amenities within the South Fulton Region and Georgia

Situated to Succeed, the City of Fairburn is located just 20 miles south of Atlanta and 15 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Adjacent to Interstate 85 and appropriately 16 miles from access to Interstate 75 and 18 miles from Interstate 20, Fairburn is ideally located for both air and vehicular travel and provides incomparable access to the interstate system that serves the Southern US.

Fairburn is the 65th largest city in Georgia. Fairburn is currently growing at a rate of 4.83% annually and its population has increased by 47.86% since the most recent census, which recorded a population of 13,158 in 2010.

The City of Fairburn is a strong educational center with Campbell Elementary, Bear Creek Middle, Creekside High School and Landmark Christian School. Global Impact Academy is a charter school that will open this fall. The liberal arts college Georgia Military College also has its campus in Fairburn.

Two Fortune 500 companies are located in the City of Fairburn: DHL, an international shipping company; and Smucker's Corp., a manufacturer of food products.

The City of Fairburn has built more parks, recreation facilities and walking trails.

The City of Fairburn has a dog fountain in Duncan Park. Residents can use the Duncan Park fountain while walking their pets in the park.

75th Annual Meeting and Leadership Graduation

The South Fulton Chamber of Commerce started the Leadership South Fulton (LSF) program in the fall of 1989 with a list of emerging leaders making up the inaugural class. These outstanding people became some of the most important leaders in South Fulton County. Since 2009 the program was on hiatus until its rebirth in 2020 with 15 outstanding participants representing a broad cross section of career fields from education, government, non-profits, utilities, transportation, marketing, and health care. All participants either live in, represent, or serve in the South Fulton County region, which includes the City of South Fulton, East Point, College Park, Hapeville, Union City, Fairburn, Palmetto, Chattahoochee Hills and Southwest Atlanta.
