From Educational Tech
This week’s Ed Tech Trivia Question:
  • What is the most typical reason why a computer fails? Stop by the Ed Tech Office and join a conversation about a computer’s worst enemy!
  • If you need help with your computer, please try to have the computer’s Language set to English before you stop by to visit us in Room 400A!
  •  In the next week or so, please note that if you are marked Absent for a class, you will be receiving a notification email. This is something new that we will be starting before we open the new Student Portal. In the coming weeks, we will be showing you how to access your course Attendance through the Student Portal In the meantime, if you have any questions about your class attendance, please ask your teacher or stop by the Ed Tech Office.
Need help with: Moodle, Zoom, uploading Assignments, videos, Poodll assignments, or anything related to the technology you use for classes, visit Room 400A.
Read the “Check Your Tech” link in the Announcements area of the Moodle home page. Lots of good tips on how to keep your technology healthy!

  1. Send your introduction email
  2. Include 2 scheduling options, including dates and times
  3. Meet your SFC at Showa for the 1st time and discuss future plans and activities.
Sunday, 10/16 is CCP
Kick-Off Day, students in CCP are expected to be on campus at 2PM to begin their section of the event. 

Please make sure to bring a copy of your class schedule with you.

Free museum nights at the ICA
Institute of Contemporary Art Boston
The ICA is free for all visitors every Thursday from 5 to 9 PM.
Tickets for Free Thursday Nights will be available at icaboston.org/tickets at 10 AM on that Thursday morning.
Timed tickets will still be required; advance reservation strongly recommended. The ICA is located in the Seaport, which is a great area, with beautiful harbor views and restaurants.

ボストン秋期延長プログラム概要 Boston Fall Extension Program 昭和ボストンでは、15 週間のレギュラープログラムの終了後に、約 4 週間の延長プログラムを実施しま す。通常のプログラムに加え、TOEIC 600 以上の上級者向けの Women’s Leadership プログラム(16名 限定選抜制)も用意されています。参加を希望する方は、以下のプログラム概要を確認の上、申込期日 までに申し込みをしてください。 
Save the Dates
Lantern Parade, around Jamaica Pond
Sat and Sun, Oct 22 and 23
Both nights from 6-9pm

Families and individuals bring their own homemade lanterns and walk around the pond on both nights. It's organized by a local non-profit group, and will feature musicians and activities around the pond. You can get a lantern on-site.
It's a free, seasonal, local event, and always a good time!
Boston Career Forum
World's largest job fair for Japanese-English Bilinguals 
Boston Career Forum will be held in November, and many former Showa Boston students attended this event in the past. you will have the opportunity to meet directly with company representatives and interview and possible receive an offer! Please register if you are interested in going!
