2020 Leadership Development Program
|
|
The RALSC Leadership Development Program offers an opportunity to learn how the Association operates. Many of these same principles that guide the volunteer leadership and staff of our organization applies to how you run your business.
Graduates of the Leadership Program will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to excel as a Leader of the REALTORS® Association of Lake & Sumter Counties.

The Association will be
closed Monday February 17th for Staff Training.
We will reopen Tuesday February 18th at 8:00am.

The Association office has received several recent upgrades.
Most recently the exterior of the building received a new fresh coat of paint with a new color scheme.
|
|
The Association street sign was upgraded with new
energy-efficient LED bulbs....
|
|
The front and back parking lots have been resealed and re-marked........
|
|
Inside the building a new counter top and large flat screen tv will enhance our new Affiliate Members area.
|
|

During the annual Mid-Winter meetings, RALSC raised nearly $4,000 for RPAC! Florida Realtors continued to break their own record, raising over $166,000! Thank you to all those who contributed and be on the lookout for many more great auction items during the Florida Realtors Convention & Trade Expo in August!

RALSC and our members had an extremely productive session at the annual Mid-Winter meetings, as well! Some crucial legislative topics that were discussed include…
HB623/SB1154, which would designate cooperatives as real property.
SB 0776/HB1399 would reduce the size of the FREAB (Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board) from nine members to seven.
HB 469/SB1224 would remove the subscribing witness requirements on leases longer than a year.
Additionally, vacation rentals, affordable housing, environmental protection, professionalism and reducing the business rent tax were all vital topics discussed during the public policy meetings.
3.
During the Clermont City Council meeting on 1/29/2020, ordinance NO. 2019-28 was passed, which enforces and creates many new regulations on vacation rentals. If you wish to own/turn your home into a vacation rental, you will now need to pass an inspection and hold a license to do so. For the complete ordinance, please see the link below.
NOTE: All of the provisions and items passed BESIDES the inspection/licensing fee. This will be adopted through a future resolution.
