PHA Board of Directors.
ATTENTION ALL PHA MEMBERS!
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY

Due to the COVID-19 virus and in
the interest of your safety,

ALL MATCHES AND SCHEDULED PHA ACTIVITIES ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

We expect this to last at least until April 30.
Any changes will be announced in a Range Report.

NOTE : During this time, PHA members are NOT to bring any guests or visitors into the PHA Range.
PHA members are only allowed to bring in anyone from their immediate family.

This is being done in the interest of the welfare of the general membership and to follow the sanctions imposed by North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper.

When it is time to resume normal activities, it will be published here in the Range Report.

This is a decision made by the PHA Board of Directors.
Everyone please take the precautions, set
forth by our government, very seriously
and do your part to help stop this pandemic.

We hope everyone is doing well.

PHA Board of Directors
More Information

The Range will not be closed. It will remain open during this time period. Please exercise proper main gate etiquette during this time as you come and go. Please do not congregate in groups of 10 or more while at the Range.

As things change, they will be announced here in the Range Report. We are merely following the sanctions given by Governor Roy Cooper for the state of North Carolina. The PHA Board of Directors...

...has been utilizing phone calls, emails, and the internet wires without formal meetings to keep existing projects moving along to completion.

Here's a list of accomplishments over the last few months:
  • Replaced the Lincoln thrower at the Shotgun Range.
  • Installed a concrete pad at a new location near the tactical bays to accomodate a new dumpster.
  • Installed a concrete pad in front of the High Power firing line for the High Power Match.
  • Installed a heat pump system into the Ram building which now makes the building usable for year-around activities.
  • Extended and/or raised walls on both sides of the 100-yard range.
  • Completed the drainage and retention wall behind the Ram building.

Projects in the planning stages are:
  • Extending power to the High Power Range and the Tactical Range.
  • Installing general Wi-Fi coverage for the PHA ranges.
  • The final stage of fine-tuning the requirements and bids for the wall replacement behind the 100-yard firing range.
  • Adding additional cameras across the ranges.
  • Drilling a well for water.
  • Adding in a septic system (permit already approved by Davidson County).
  • Indoor bathroom building.
  • Preparing for the annual membership renewals that will start in July.
  • Development planning for the property that PHA II Range recently purchased.
  • Landscaping
  • Range Workday (when allowed).
  • September Open House
PHA to Become
Part of DOT's Roadside
Litter Pickup Campaign
PHA has applied for and been approved to participate in NCDOT's Roadside Litter Pickup campaign on Highway 150.

Our assigned section on Highway 150 is from Wilson Road, just a short distance north of PHA, to Wilson Road, about 1.8 miles north on Highway 150. We think this is a great idea to be more neighborly. That section of the road has a large number of residential homes on it, so there probably won't be that much trash to pickup. But we'll still make the effort. And we get to have PHA's name posted up on signs on each end of that section of the highway. Free advertising and doing a good deed for our neighbors. How much better could it get?

We'll be committed to do the litter pickup four times a year. When we're ready, we'll let you know so we can start a wait list of volunteers for the first litter pick-up day.

If you have any questions, just contact the PHA Secretary. He'll be the one standing on the side of the road with an orange trash bag.

Range Report..on Facebook
The Range Report is now on Facebook. The intent is to put Range information on Facebook that needs to get out fast (Match cancellations, last-minute changes, quick announcements, etc.). This will not be a forum to discuss politics and religion. Please be kind and courteous. The weekly Range Report will still be issued every Thursday morning as usual.

So we'll try this out and see if it works. Comments are welcome...
on the Facebook page.
