Granma, May 11, 2020- This second Sunday of May, the relentless battle against COVID-19 makes for a different Mother's Day.

Across Cuba, the date is customarily celebrated with family dinners at home, outings to restaurants and parks, along with visit to the cemetery to honor mothers where their remains rest.

Telesur, May 10, 2020- Dr. Francisco Durán, national director of Epidemiology of the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, reported on  Sunday that a considerable part of the population will be given tests to detect possible positive cases of COVID-19.

Telesur, May 6, 2020- At least 25 U.S. lawmakers Tuesday signed a letter requesting President Donald Trump's administration to allow Cuba access to medical supplies to fight COVID-19.

Senator Patrick Leahy and Representative Jim McGovern are leading the initiative through a letter sent to Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.


Cuba adjusts its annual economic plan in light of coronavirus situation


OnCuba, May 11, 2020- Cuba adjusted the economy plan for 2020 due to the current situation generated by the COVID-19 pandemic, at the same time as it began to carry out the economic plan for the coming year, taking into account the nation’s economic and social development.

The decision was announced at a recent meeting of the Cuban Council of Ministers, where other indications were announced for the economic strategy planned for the recovery stage from the pandemic that is  affecting  today the entire planet.

Cuba decries US conspiratorial silence in terrorist attack
Prensa Latina, Havana, May 12, 2020- Cuba denounced on Tuesday that the United States Government has chosen to silence the terrorist attack on April 30 against the island's embassy in Washington.

This was stated by Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez at a virtual press conference, broadcast by national television.

The State Department and the U.S. Government have decided to silence this terrorist attack, he stressed.
