REMINDER

ATTENTION TO ALL PHA MEMBERS!

ALL PHA MEMBERS  MUST  WEAR THEIR PHA ID BADGES
ON THEIR PERSON ( NOT ON YOUR RANGE BAG, NOT HANGING ON THE REARVIEW MIRROR OF YOUR VEHICLE, OR ANYWHERE ELSE ) AT ALL TIMES WHILE ON PHA PROPERTY.

NO EXCEPTIONS.

If anyone asks about your badge, do not take it personally.
Just show your badge and thank them for asking.

PHA Board of Directors.
ATTENTION ALL PHA MEMBERS!
EFFECTIVE THURSDAY, MAY 28

All PHA matches will resume their normal schedule. However, we still must still follow a few NC restrictions while shooting matches.

They are:

  • While shooting outdoors, no more than 25 people will be allowed to participate in ANY PHA match.
  • Everyone shooting the match must maintain the 6-foot separation.
  • All match shooters, match directors, and RSO's must wear protective masks.
  • No food can be provided at any match.

If these requirements cannot be complied with at any match, then the match must be canceled. These requirements will remain in place until the NC Governor relaxes them again. And we'll report those changes in the Range Report.

Also, the guest restriction has now been removed. Please follow the normal limitation, 2 per member, for guests you bring PHA Range.

PHA Board of Directors.
Upcoming Matches
.22 Bench Rest

On Thursday, July 23, the Ron Gearren .22 Shoot starts at 8:00 am. This is a bench rest match with .22 rim fire rifles at 50 and 80 yards.

5-Stand Shotgun

The 5-Stand shotgun for this Saturday
will be starting at 8 am.

The 5-Stand shotgun for this Sunday
will start at noon.
Attention!
Call for Volunteers.

OK everybody, listen up.

We are sorely in need of volunteers for the 5-Stand Shotgun.

PHA was built based on volunteers and donations.

Now we're asking for volunteers to
help keep the 5-stand venue going.

Volunteers are needed for Saturday and for Sunday. Unless some of you volunteer (it's only a few hours on 1 day a month) for this venue on Saturday and Sunday, we will have to cut back the schedules for both days. Saturday shoots each Saturday except for a 5th Saturday. Sunday has already cut back to the 3rd and 4th Sunday of each month. We also shoot on the 5th Sunday of a month.

Please contact Rick Muetzel via email and let him know that you would like to help. The entire club thanks you for your support!
NRA High Power Match

On Saturday, all competitors (per PHA rules) will be required to attend the safety briefing prior to firing in the match. If someone fails to be there at the time of the briefing, they will not be allowed to compete.

All competitors are expected to arrive early in order to assist in the set up of targets and get the range ready for the match.

The gate will open at 8:00 am, set up will start by 8:20 am. Safety Briefing will be at 8:45 am. Match will start at 9:00 am.

New shooters will be paired with experienced shooters to help and instruct them.

Bench Rest Match -- July 18th

Conditions for the BR match Saturday was almost perfect. 80 degrees at 8:00 with no wind.

We had a great turnout for our 3rd match of the year with eleven shooters. Two new shooters and two of our veteran shooters came out for the first time this year. It was great to see Paul and Vince back shooting with us. Al, one of our new shooters, came all the way from Durham. Chris, a PHA member who usually shoots high-power rifles, came out to test his skills with
bench rest. Chris shot an impressive score in his first match.

Match Results:

Factory class: Paul Brinkman 250-12X using a CZ457, Vince Swicegood 250-11X using a CZ452, Bobby Hall 250-60X using a CZ455.

Sporter 50 yards: Dennis Mueller 248-5X using a Cooper 57M

Sporter 80 yards: Tom Whitlow 249-23X using a Remington 40X

Buffalo Match Results

The July 19, 2020, PHA shoot was sunny, hot, but bearable. We had 7 shooters for this match.
Things ran very smoothly, but we sure missed some of the old pros that used to join us. So get off your duffs, load some ammo and come shoot with us.

Adopt-A-Highway
It's Official.
We have adopted a highway.

We just received our official papers from NCDOT that we have been approved to adopt a 1.8 mile section of Hwy 150. It starts at Wilson Road and ends at Wilson Road. We are obligated to do a litter pickup 4 times a year. We will be scheduling our first pickup soon. And yes, we will need a few volunteers. Stay tuned.
