PHA Board of Directors.
Construction is in Progress!
Construction is now in progress in the area behind the 100-yard firing line.

This work started on June 10 and will take approximately ten workdays to complete. We will announce the official completion date here in the Range Report when they get closer to the end of work. They may hit a weather delay or some other delay during the next two weeks. And we want to be accurate on the re-opening date.

During this entire work period, the 100-yard range and
pistol bay #1 will be closed for the entire time.

BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN DRIVING THROUGH THIS AREA.

During all of the work in this area, and because of necessary work that will be required, access to the entire pistol bay may have to be closed for a short period of time while work is done on the driveway/parking area behind the 100-yard range. They will do their best to keep the closing to as short a time as they can. If this is necessary, we will issue the necessary construction reports to keep you informed as to when it will close and re-open.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary project may cause you.

PHA Club Board of Directors.
ATTENTION ALL PHA MEMBERS!
EFFECTIVE THURSDAY, MAY 28

All PHA matches will resume their normal schedule. However, we still must still follow a few NC restrictions while shooting matches.

They are:

  • While shooting outdoors, no more than 25 people will be allowed to participate in ANY PHA match.
  • Everyone shooting the match must maintain the 6-foot separation.
  • All match shooters, match directors, and RSO's must wear protective masks.
  • No food can be provided at any match.

If these requirements cannot be complied with at any match, then the match must be canceled. These requirements will remain in place until the NC Governor relaxes them again. And we'll report those changes in the Range Report.

Also, the guest restriction has now been removed. Please follow the normal limitation, 2 per member, for guests you bring PHA Range.

.22 Bench Rest Match Notes
Sight-In Day
Thursday, June 18, 2020

Nine shooters showed up on a beautiful day to check their zeros for our first bench rest match of the year. Most of us had not shot our rifles since last October. It took a couple targets to get back in tune.

Keith Raulston, with a new CZ457, shot an impressive 250/16X on his first target. Needless to say, he is ready! It was great to see one of our early members, Joe Paschal. Joe brought out an old
Winchester 52 that he said had not been out of his safe in 30 years with some old Whitebox CMP ammo. After some site adjustments Joe was right on "target". By the end of the day everyone had picked out the right ammo and made their last scope adjustments.

Bench Rest Match Results
June 20th, 2020

It started out to be an overcast day with high humidity, poor light conditions with a crosswind blowing 1 to 2 miles per hour. To a bench rest shooter this would be a start to a bad day. Soon after we started to shoot, the skies cleared and the temperature rose making it a good day to shoot. It's always good to test your marksmanship against the elements.

Match Results as follows:

Factory Class:  Harold Fulliam, Remington 541T, 250/12X

Sporter Class - 50 yds - Dennis Mueller, Remington 40X, 249/5X

Sporter Class - 80 yds - Tom Whitlow, Remington 40X, 249/22X

Match Rifle Class - 80 yds - Derrick Hardin, CZ457, 241/9X

Open site Class - 50 yds - Tom Whitlow, Remington 40X, 150/10X

Prestigious Harbour Freight Award -- Harold Fulliam

Special thanks to Harold Fullam to coming out Thursday & Saturday to help set up the match.

Thanks to everyone for coming out to support our bench rest match. See you Thursday, June 25th and July 18th at 8 am sharp.

The Kind Heart Fund
PHA is starting a Kind Heart Fund.

This will include sending flowers or a memorial gift when a member or someone in the member's immediate family passes away, a remembrance card when a member is in the hospital, donations to local organizations, and other special situations that may arise.
If you know of a club member in one of these situations, please notify  Nancy Mueller ( [email protected]), who is the Chairperson for Kind Heart.

Funding for Kind Heart will  only come from donations. PHA will not be funding Kind Heart directly.  Our funding will start with a drawing for several prizes which are listed below.
