The Sunday 5-stand shotgun needs volunteers for the 1st and 2nd Sundays of the month. If you would like to volunteer or ask for more information, please email Donnie Small . Your interest and help will be greatly appreciated.

No shot larger than 7 1/2 on the 5-Stand.

Kendra Herbert Doubles Up

On Saturday, Sept. 14, we had 9 shooters for the monthly Benchrest Match. It was a near perfect day to shoot. Cloudy, no winds, and temperatures in the 70's.

Kendra, out for the last couple of months, came back strong by winning the 80-yard Sporters Class and the Open-Site Class.

Congratulations to Kendra for the great shoot.

If you are coming to the Open House on Sept. 21st, stop by the .22 Range for more information on benchrest shooting & the .22 Fun Match. The Club recently purchased new AR500 targets for the .22 range. These targets are fun to shoot and will test your shooting skills with a rifle or pistol. Guns and ammo will be available for you to try out.

Special thanks to Harold Fullam for his help on workday by coming out early Saturday to set up for our match.

That's Not a Fire!!

It's just 12 Buffalo shooters filling the air with thick smoke at our Sept. 15 Buffalo Shoot. Since the Rowan match was the day before with 21 shooters, the stress on both shooter and equipment took its toll. Three top shooters fell due to malfunctions. Our next is match is September 29. Come join us as our participation continues to grow.

HIGH POWER MATCH RESULTS

FOR AUGUST 2019

The August High Power match at PHA was attended by 13 competitors (giving us 2 relays - great). There were a lot of close scores for the shooters. The weather was not as good as the weatherman had said on Thur. and Fri. I guess I shouldn’t believe them, but everyone stuck through and even though things got a little wet, we had fun.

Spencer Strickland was overall match winner with a score of 763-10x. Same score as last month, just lost a couple of x’s. Hope he doesn’t get stuck on the same number! Second place went to Wayne Hemphill with a 756-15x. Wayne was also high Expert. Andy Askew was high metallic sights with a score of 712-8x. Scores are listed at the PHA website.

Our next match is on Sat, 28 September, beginning at 0930- registration at 0845. We do have some club rifles available for use with your own FACTORY ammo, or you may purchase our ammo at our cost. If someone needs to borrow a rifle, please email me or Wayne and we will make arrangements for that person.

Sunday, Sept. 15 was just a hot day.

No breeze, high humidity, and HOT. But eleven shooters still showed up to shoot the 5-Stand. Bodie had the high score for the day with 24 hits followed by Jim with 23 and David with 22.

Thanks to all who came to shoot.

Service Awards

David McDonald (L) and Roger Reese (C) were given PHA Service Awards by Vice-President Bokie Sherk (R) at the General Meeting on September 12. The awards were given in appreciation for there many years of service to PHA as well as their service on the PHA Board of Directors.

Reminders

If you have not already renewed your membership, you must do that soon. The due date is September 1 but you have until September 30 to renew without penalty. Your envelope must be postmarked September 30 or before to avoid paying a penalty. If it is postmarked after September 30 then you must pay a $50 penalty in addition to the annual renewal fee.

Vintage Match is Canceled

The Vintage Match will not be held this year. The previous

Match Directors are not able to conduct this match.

PHA Membership Renewal Season

is Now in Progress.

Here is What You Need To Know.

Now is the time to renew your PHA Annual Membership.

All of the renewal forms were mailed by July 5.

You will receive an envelope via US Mail from PHA. This envelope contains all of the papers that you need to renew your membership for the coming year.

Your Membership Renewal envelope contains the following:

Membership Renewal form. Be sure to fill in all of the required information and be sure to sign and date it near the bottom of the form.
Range Rules form. Be sure to fill in all of the required information and be sure to sign and date it near the bottom of the form.
Ballot. There is also an election for PHA Club Officers and At-Large Board Members. Be sure to mark your ballots. You may also receive a ballot for PHA Range and/or PHA Range II.
A pre-addressed return envelope is also included for you to return all of your documents to PHA.

After you have signed your documents and marked your ballot(s), place them in the pre-addressed envelope, put a stamp on it, then mail it.

NOTE : PHA Club members must also include a check for $125 for their annual dues.

NOTE : If you do not sign all of your renewal documents and/or if you do not include your annual dues payment, if required, your new membership card will not be issued to you. All of your documents will be returned to you to be completed. And then you will have to re-submit. This will delay the issuance of your new membership card.

NOTE: If a PHA Club member anticipates a difficulty, due to job, medical reasons or other reasons, in paying their annual dues, contact President Ray Owens prior to September 1, 2019.

Here are important dates for you to remember.

July 5. Your Membership renewal envelope containing forms and ballots were mailed out by this date.
July 20. If you have NOT received your renewal envelope by this date, you must contact the Recording Secretary immediately and let us know that you have NOT received your renewal information.
Membership cards are now being mailed out.
September 1. PHA membership renewals are due on this day.
September 30. This is the final day to renew your membership without penalty.
October 1 to December 31. Memberships renewed during this time period will incur a $50 penalty in addition to the $125 annual dues.
December 31. This is the final day that dues + penalty will be accepted. If you have not renewed by this date, you will be officially dropped from the PHA membership rolls. If you renew after this date, you must re-apply as a brand new member and pay the new member fees.

Main Gate Codes

The main entrance gate code is scheduled

to be changed on October 15.

PHA Safety Reminder

Fire only at targets directly in front of your firing Point. Angled shots may not hit or be stopped by the berms.

Mark You Calendars...

Open House is on Saturday,

September 21.

This will be open to the public and will run from 9 am until 3 pm. There will free food and refreshments for everyone. Attendees will be able to try out the Falling Plates in the pistol bays, the .22 Rimfire Range will have rifles and pistols to shoot, the 5-stand shotgun will be shooting clays, the High Power range will be open and Defensive pistol will be available. Should be a good time for everyone.

After the recent passing of previous President Ken Vanadore, a PHA Range Annual Meeting was held on Monday, Aug. 12th to elect new officers. The PHA Officers are now:

Every year a lease agreement is signed between PHA Range and PHA Club. This lease was reviewed and determined to be suitable for renewal for another year. The lease was signed on August 28, 2019 by PHA Range and PHA Club Officers. This lease is in effect until August 31, 2020.

The PHA Range Officers have reviewed the stock book. It is in need of updating. Over half of our members information is over thirty years old. This is where you can help us out! We would like to computerize our stock book and update it with current member information. We need you to send us your current mailing address, e-mail, phone number and copy of your current stock certificate. This will help us if you should misplace or need to transfer your certificate.
