Parade applications are accepted at the Easley Chamber office (201 North 1st Street) or by mail (PO Box 241, Easley SC 29641). The non-refundable entry fee is $25.00 (payable with application) and the parade entry deadline is on Monday, November 28 at 5:00 PM. For questions or further information, please call the Chamber office at 864-859-2693.

Pickens County Library System- November Newsletter

This Weekend...

Verity Primary Medicine & Lifestyle is bringing back its Pre-Holiday Plant-Based Potluck! If you would like to share recipes and meet others who are thriving (or struggling) on a whole food, plant based diet then please join us on Friday, November 4th at 6pm. Show them what you like to serve around the holidays and share recipes so that others who may be plant-curious can find a healthful, but joyful dish to serve at a family or workplace gathering. Verity is sponsoring this event that is open to everyone.

5 Point Church is excited to host its annual Market at the Point event this Saturday, November 5 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Market at the Point encourages you to Shop Small and Support Local. It will be an outside event at 1039 South Pendleton Street in Easley.

Walk the streets of Downtown Easley and shop at businesses for their Annual Holiday Open Houses on Saturday, November 5:

Come out and join the Silos Brewing Co. on Saturday, November 5th as they host their inaugural Pickens Co Pickin Party and Back Country Games! Get out your banjo, brush off your boots, and prepare to test your skills! The sounds of fiddles can be heard beginning from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at 122 Folger Avenue in Easley, SC. It's $5 per tickets. The event will benefit Friends of Pickens County Guardian ad Litem.

JC Cares is having its Annual Celebration Night & JC Works Graduation on Tuesday, November 8th at 7:00 pm in the Dream Center auditorium. Besides hearing testimonies of life-change, they will be recognizing three graduates of their JC Works program. This event is free and open to the community. The Dream Center is located at 111 Hillcrest in Easley.

American Legion Post 52 requests your presence on November 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM for their Veterans Ceremony. It will be with Easley and Robinson Memorial gardens at 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley. The speaker will be Bob Scherer, the past American Legion Department of South Carolina Commander. The original signing of the armistice was 103 years ago. Attend the event to remember the veterans who gave their all for us to enjoy the freedoms we enjoy today. Veterans Day honors veterans on Armistice Day and the End of World War I.

Tri-County Technical College’s Veterinary Technology Department will hold a Public Wide Pet Adoption on Friday, November 18th from 2:00-5:00pm at Halbert Hall on the Pendleton Campus. All animals are on a first come, first serve basis. Due to insurance regulations, no other animals are allowed on the premises. The adoption fee is $45.00 (cash or check only). This fee includes the animal being spayed/neutered, microchipped with registration, up-to-date on vaccines, and current on heartworm and flea prevention. Dogs have been started on basic commands and leash manners and cats have been socialized. If you have any questions about any of the animals, please contact the Adoption Coordinator at [email protected]. Visit their Facebook page to see the animals and for updates.

The PVSH Athletic Booster Club is proud to present its 2nd A Very Merry Christmas Parade. It's set for Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:30 AM. The parade route will start at the former Bi-Lo (3518 HWY 153, Greenville SC 29611) and will finish at the entrance of the Powdersville High School (1145 Hood Road, Grenville SC 29611). This event is open to the community & all organizations, businesses, churches...etc in Anderson, Greenville, and Pickens County are welcome to enter the parade! Powdersville Business Hosted Last Luncheon of 2022

The Powdersville Business hosted its last Luncheon of 2022 on October 27 at Comfort Suites. Guest speakers were Superintendent of Anderson School District I, Robbie Binnicker, and Director of Anderson I & II Career and Technology Center, Hollie Harrell. They  shared a current and informative update on the school district. The update from Binnicker included a focus on student mental health awareness, top five academic scores in the state, and a high enrollment rate... The update for ACTC included an overview of their 22 academic programs, as well as the increasing student enrollment demands. In addition, 65 of their 12th graders are currently working in their field of study with local employers. Pickens County- Operation Green Light for Veterans

As part of Operation Green Light for Veterans, Pickens County is highlighting employees who have served in the military. The latest employee highlight is Clinton L. Dickey. Dickey served in the United States Army Infantry from 1984 to 1986 in Kirchgoens, West Germany assigned to Heavy Anti-armor. During his two years of service, he qualified to shoot 3 live TOW missiles. Now, Dickey is the Director of the Public Service Commission.
