Millersville University Homecoming 2020 Goes Virtual

Millersville University's Homecoming, originally planned with on and off-campus events on October 23 and 24, 2020, will now shift to a series of virtual celebrations on the same dates. This shift comes as a response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Activities and information can be found online at millersville.edu/homecoming .

The line-up of online events includes Homecoming @ Home Kits , Miles for Marauders , a Virtual Golf Tournament , a Selfie Scavenger Hunt and a Digital Scrapbook . "We wanted to be sure we found a way to celebrate our Marauder Pride together,” says Gabrielle Buzgo, interim director of alumni engagement at MU, “even if we have to do it apart for this year."

Alumni Spotlight
Kelli Wyatt ‘97 , is all about giving back to her community. She graduated from Millersville University with a  degree in Elementary Education , ready to take on her role in the classroom. As an educator with a passion for empowering kids, seeing the way the COVID-19 pandemic affected high school seniors tugged on her heartstrings.

Wyatt created a private Facebook group called  “Adopt A High School Senior 2020 - Let's Celebrate Them, " where parents posted photos of their high school seniors and people in the group reached out to “adopt” them, purchasing gifts, sending cards, money, well-wishes and more. The group took off almost immediately, racking up approximately 3,000 members within the first week alone. The scholarship fund is still going strong. To date, it has raised more than $35,000.
