Millersville Receives $1.35 Million Grant
|
|
Dr. Alex Redcay, assistant professor in the School of Social Work, has secured a
$1.35 million grant
to help students develop expertise in the fields of addiction and recovery to combat the opioid crisis. The grant is funded by the Federal Health Resources and Services Administration and will provide $840,000 in scholarships. While the grant title is “Opioid Workforce Expansion Program” Redcay says it’s not just about opioids. “It’s about all addictions. We want to meet the needs of the community.”

Marauder Pride Celebration
The Class of 2023 arrived at the 'Ville and were welcomed to campus by more than 50 alumni at the annual Alumni Pinning Ceremony. MUAA board president, John Held '02, reminded students to keep their doors open to allow for unexpected experiences. Dr. Dominick DiNunzio '53 was featured in a special video, in which he talked about the value of traditions and what it means to be a member of the Marauder Family.
After the pinning, alumni from the class of 1953 through the class of 2018 gathered around the pond/lake with the class of 2023, MU President Dr. Daniel Wubah, and other members of the campus community for the special candle-lighting ceremony, which included the singing of the alma mater!
