Alumni Spotlight
Simmie Strausbaugh '13 earned a bachelor's degree in anthropology from Millersville University and his experience made a transformative impact on his life. Several faculty members who were exceptionally supportive were Dr. Justin García, Dr. Onek Adyanga and Dr. Marlene Arnold, his academic advisor. According to Strausbaugh, it was these University faculty members who reflect “the very fabric of what Millersville is.”

“Sometimes you really can’t put things into words, but I do know that I have taken and exercised a lot of my experience there in everyday life. And a lot of that had to do with the people.”

Events
The Twelve Days of Glorious Virtual Sounds of the Season

Now in its fifteenth tenure, Millersville University's Glorious Sounds of the Season features more than 250 MU Students in a Scholarship Benefit Holiday Concert, showcasing various ensembles including the MU Orchestra, Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Chorale and more! These ensembles and faculty soloists will present a musical celebration of the seasonal traditions full of majesty, mystery and magic that will lift your spirits and usher you into the holiday season.

Since there will be no live, in-person performances this year, the Tell School of Music is assembling a virtual experience, The Twelve Days of Glorious Virtual Sounds of the Season!

Beginning December 1st, we will present twelve days of musical performances via our virtual platform. The first set of eleven videos will be short performances, each about two minutes in length, featuring many different facets of Tell School of Music. On December 12th, Glorious Sounds of the Season will conclude with a 25-minute performance featuring students, faculty, large ensembles, small ensembles, and the energy, variety, and fast-paced sequence that audiences have come to enjoy in the successful live shows since 2006.

Give the Gift of Student Success

The series of Glorious Sounds of the Season concerts is normally one of the largest fundraisers for the Tell School of Music with over $28,000 in music scholarship funds generated from ticket sales. While there are no tickets required for this year’s event, we are asking that a donation be made that would equal the purchase of your and your family’s tickets, to ensure the continued achievement of our talented and hard-working students.

We are encouraging all alumni, music lovers, family and friends to consider giving a gift toward student success this holiday season!
