Owner:
Marvo Reguindin
What the business does:
The business started in 1999 as a graphic design firm. They’ve worked in advertising, communications, and outreach since that time. About four years ago, they pivoted to focus on nonprofits and associations. They now provide association management as well as marketing, communications, and design for those groups. This often includes event management and marketing of events.
Target audiences:
Associations and non-profit organizations
How has COVID-19 impacted your business? Due to social distancing, he and his employees moved into home offices. They had worked well together in their office space, but they learned that they could be just as productive from a home environment. The owner still feels that he’d like an office but is considering downsizing or sub-letting his larger office downtown.
What has he learned?
Keeping a good eye on finances and payroll is important. Now, he is watching businesses and entrepreneurs that are learning to re-tool, adjust and pivot with the current situation. He admires anyone working in the nonprofit space who is willing to make a difference.
Special offer:
Free assessment of marketing communications for a nonprofit or association

Interview with Christopher Pitotti
Owners:
Gary "Tom" Sawyer & Sandra Sawyer
What the business does:
Specialty roasted coffee sold wholesale and retail around the United States and beyond.
Target audience:
For the retail side – people who love locally roasted, great tasting coffee. For the wholesale side, they target coffee shops and restaurants, church groups, offices, cafes and more.
Actions taken during the shutdown: Half of employees were laid off, as there was no business coming in from wholesale accounts. Luckily, they have a following of loyal retail customers in Spokane who continued to shop with them at their retail store in Kendall Yards.
What has he learned?
He said that they’ve made mistakes and learned from them over the years; didn’t cite a particular mistake.
Special offer:
Get the “fan club” starter kit, which is three of the top coffee blends delivered, they pay shipping. Starting June 1, they are going back to standard hours (7:30-5 p.m.) the first week we are offering $1 drip coffee and $2 off pound coffee.
