Make-a-Will Month

August is Make-a-Will Month

A key part of the mission of Southern Oregon Friends of Hospice is to educate our community on the benefits of end-of-life care and planning.

Without a will, the State, not you, will distribute your assets in a way that may not reflect your wishes, and the outcome may create unnecessary stress for your loved ones.

Capturing your desires in writing a will delivers your wishes according to your intentions, protects your loved ones, appoints guardians, and minimizes potential issues.

To simplify this process, we’ve partnered with FreeWill, a trusted online tool that allows you to create a will in just 20 minutes. Plans are customized to your jurisdiction and wishes.

This month, make your will and bring peace of mind to you and those you love.

Share the Care

Time is running out—one week remains to double your impact in support of Celia’s House Summer Campaign.

A generous donor will match up to $25,000 to help us reach our $200,000 goal. Together, we can go twice as far

Michelle, who serves on the Board of Directors, emphasizes the importance of giving to Southern Oregon Friends of Hospice. She truly understands the value of hospice care after our nonprofit residence, Celia’s House, cared for her mother. She noted that “the caregivers and nurses are angels on feet” after experiencing the comfort that Celia’s House environment and care staff provided.

“It allowed me to be a daughter instead of a ‘caregiver.’ It was a peaceful and respectful environment that provided dignity when dignity can be lost when our loved ones are dying. The significance of philanthropy makes high-quality end-of-life care accessible to all. Comprehensive care extends beyond what insurance typically covers. Contributions help bridge financial gaps for residents and expand access to services like Spiritual Care and the Acton Black Family Food Program. Celia’s House is more than a home; it is magical.”

Every dollar will be matched 1:1; double your donation today.

"You never know what treasures you'll find at this store. It has a well curated and nicely displayed selection of nicer clothing (some vintage, some newer) and housewares. The staff are friendly and helpful. Most are volunteers who donate their time because they know it helps a wonderful cause, Celia's House. Celia's provides hospice care with compassion toward the patient and family in a beautiful setting. It's also a great place to donate quality, usable items if you're downsizing!'

"Hospice at its very best. I couldn't ask for a better place to care for my dad. The surrounding gardens are outstanding, and the environment created by the staff and volunteers is wonderful." - Jason
