Spotlight On ... the College Closures & Student Outcomes Dashboard

By Clearinghouse Today Blog

The Research Center recently introduced an interactive College Closures and Student Outcomes dashboard that provides insights from the reports and enables a closer view of the impact of college closures on student education pathways.

Key Features of the Dashboard

  • Closed Institution Characteristics: See completions rates by students impacted by a college closure, cross-referenced by reenrollment at a branch campus or a distinct institution. Filter the data by institution section (private vs. public) and institution size by student count.
  • Some College No Credential (SCNC) - Closure Students: See the juxtaposition of SSNC students impacted by a college closure compared to those not affected by a college closure.
  • Potential Completer Status: The new dashboard also presents reenrollment rates of SCNC students who had completed at least two years of full-time enrollment (potential completer) versus those who had not completed at least two years of full-time enrollment when their institution closed (non-potential completer).

“This study shows that any college closure is damaging to student success, leaving too many learners – more than half – without a viable path to fulfilling their educational dreams.” - Doug Shapiro, Executive Director, National Student Clearinghouse Research Center

Super Bowl Picks and Snacks

Lions, Ravens, and Buffalo Chicken Dip, oh my!

Jessica Timberlake: Even though I love Taylor and the whole Kelce Family, I am rooting for the Ravens and the Lions. Every year we plan our menu off of food from whichever team/city is playing. Last year we did BBQ and cheesesteaks and soft pretzels. If the Ravens win, we will do "crabcakes & football" and Detroit pizza for the Lions!

Brian Kolonich: I got KC and DET. My favorite super bowl snack is bacon wrapped jalapeños!

Anna Toussaint: I want the Lions to win for my BFF (even more than my father-in-law's Ravens lol) and Buffalo chicken dip for a snack!

Chas Kelley: I'm thinking Baltimore-San Francisco for the Super Bowl (though I would like to see Kansas City-Detroit). My favorite game-day snack is hot wings (my own special recipe)!!!

Rick Torres: SB winner ... going with the Ravens! Go-to-snack: Tostito chips and homemade hot dipping sauce meat and cheese combo!
