New Podcast Project from Hawai'i ACDA
From Hawai'i ACDA President Jace Kaholokula Saplan: "The idea of Nānā I Ke Kumu: Honoring Hawaiʻi Choral Legacy largely came from our discussion earlier this year around the importance of mentorship. As a way to catalyze networking, story telling, community building . . . and of course . . . mentorship during a time of social distancing, we used our qualitative research skills and our gift of gab and paired our younger members to pillars of our choral community here in the islands. Listen to the first podcast with Jace and Wanda Gereben, a treasured mentor in Hawaiʻi's choral community.
Resources for Choral Professionals During the Pandemic
The research team at Colorado State University (CSU) hosted a webinar last week (May 20) with updates on the results of their research and recommendations, including information on masks. Summarizing, N95 masks continue to be the best masks, and no singers' masks currently come close to their efficiency. The efficacy of masks depends on their fit, filtration, breathability, and compliance.

More about the webinar, including notes from it, can be found with the latest choir-related guidance and resources on our COVID Resources page. (Research >> 2. Reducing Bioaerosol Emissions and Exposures in the Performing Arts >> May 20 update.)
