2023 Central Valley Ag Young Producer Conference
“Mental health is hard to talk about because it is something that we don’t see," a young female producer shared at a recent Nebraska Young Producer conference.
The 2023 Central Valley Ag Young Producer Conference brought together producer members from Iowa, Kansas, and Nebraska to learn and share perspectives regarding health risks, financial risks, employee management, and the future value of cooperatives. Community Health Director Linda Emanuel's presentation topic focused on the culture and adverse effects of mental ruggedness in the face of adversity in agriculture. The interactive training explored producers' healthy and unhealthy coping skills and encouraged producers to continue talking about mental well-being.
