This monthly newsletter provides updates on what our community is doing to increase affordable housing in Boulder County. We’ll also keep you in-the-loop on how you can get involved.

We all have a role in making housing more affordable, accessible and sustainable for generations to come. Realizing the growing need for more housing options in our region, the Boulder County Regional Housing Partnership (BCRHP) formed in 2016 and launched Home Wanted to bring communities, businesses and agencies together with a shared goal: to make 12 percent of all housing options in Boulder County affordable by 2035.

Policy Wins: Huge Increase in Housing Funds Across Colorado

We did it! Thanks to the advocacy and leadership of the Boulder County Regional Housing Partnership and like-minded groups across Colorado, we are celebrating historic policy wins for affordable housing development and access in Colorado. Our community movement helped provide $1 billion in state funding for affordable housing.

In the final two weeks of the 2019 legislative session, Colorado lawmakers passed several bills that will help address our community’s housing crisis.

The new dedicated source of funding through a vendor fee modification (HB1245)

Incentives for builders to facilitate affordable housing development (HB1319)

The State Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (HB1228)

The expanded funding for affordable housing through the unclaimed property trust fund (HB1322)

Campaign Updates

Other 2019 bills included housing resources for people recovering from substance use disorders ( HB1009 ), increased tenant protections ( HB1170 , HB1106 ), and a host of updates affecting manufactured/modular housing ( HB1011 , HB1309 , HB1238 ).
