Cool breezes in Chilmark That cool breeze you feel could be coming from the chill directed by Aquinnah selectmen at their former town administrator Adam Wilson. The board supports a wind farm proposed by Vineyard Power, rather than Bay State Wind — the company Wilson now works for. Reporter Rich Saltzberg has the details .

Moped accident victim returns with thanks Reporter Barry Stringfellow has the remarkable story of Noelle Lambert, who came back to the Island to say thank you to the Oak Bluffs first responders who helped her recover from injuries from a severe moped accident. In 2016, Noelle lost her leg in the horrific accident, but her story is an uplifting one of a young woman pushing forward with courage and determination.

Wear orange: shotgun season is here The color of the day is orange. Yes, the two-week shotgun hunting season opened today (Monday!) on the Vineyard, and if you’re taking a trek in or near the woods you’d best be wearing the season’s most fashionable color. It’s also mating season for deer, so be careful driving out there. You don’t want to be hunting deer in a car as reporter Barry Stringfellow points out .

MEETINGS Chilmark voters will gather at the community center at 7 tonight for a special town meeting. On the warrant are a couple of articles on Squibnocket that will inevitably generate some debate. Things will be a little lighter in Edgartown, where the board of selectmen is meeting at 4 pm at Edgartown Town Hall to discuss the Teddy Bear Run. And the Martha’s Vineyard Regional School Committee is holding a budget hearing at 6 pm in the high school Performing Arts Center.

Tonight: West Tisbury producer, writer, and director Angela Andersen brings her documentary “Brave New World — How Silicon Valley is Shaping Our Future” to the West Tisbury library tonight at 7 pm. Ms. Andersen has worked on more than 50 documentaries, and they’ve won awards — lots of them. She’s also got a really sweet black lab named Sam. Hi, Sam! — Connie Berry “Dial M for Murder” has all the elements of a classic whodunit — blackmail, love letters, and cash. The M.V. Playhouse screens the film at 7 pm as part of its Monday Night at the Movies series. Speaking of cash, tickets are $5 (cash only) making this a great date night option. — C.B. Tomorrow: It’s time to start holiday shopping, and if you don’t start now, you’ll be left with nothing but pepper grinders and beef sticks. Get to the Vineyard Holiday Gift Shop, just behind the Larder on State Road in Vineyard Haven, open 10 am to 6 pm every day until Christmas Eve. Every conceivable handmade gift is there waiting for you. And it’s not even December yet. — C.B.

What a great idea: Benjamin Reeve of West Tisbury proposes what we should do with old wrecks of boats: “ In the form of carcasses in the weeds behind various town beaches and common shorelines, and in the incidence of kids who might be still happier if they had a boat as a friend, there is good reason to begin a small program to recycle and refloat abandoned hulls. I write to suggest a possible outline.” From ‘ Abandoned boats for the next generation.’
