I Work with Artist:

Program Communication

Program Communication invites you to reflect on how well you understand the artists you serve and how intentionally you reach them. Are you relying on familiar methods, or actively learning about your community and adapting your outreach to meet them where they are? As organizations move from simply sharing information to designing and partnering on diverse strategies, communication becomes less about broadcasting and more about connection. Where does your organization fall, and what would it take for artists to truly feel seen?

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

CURTIS SPENCE

Yardley, PA

Tell us about yourself.

My work lives at the intersection of watercolor, poetry, and sacred attention; where pigment, silence, and words meet. I’m drawn to conceptual language as a way of exploring belonging, resilience, and the quiet ways community forms and holds us. Whether in a studio, a gathering, or a shared pause, I create to invite reflection rather than resolution.

I thrive when I...

am paying close attention; letting curiosity, stillness, and honest reflection guide both my life and my art.

Where can we find your work?

Ireland launches world first scheme to provide basic income for artists

Ireland is becoming a global first by launching a permanent basic income for artists, paying 2,000 creatives €325 a week for three years. After a successful pilot showed strong economic returns and improved quality of life, the government says the move could transform how artists survive and thrive. Could this be a model for the rest of the world?
