Mid-America Speedway News Issue: 5.19

Rounds 8 and 9 of the AMA Vintage Diirt Track Series were a huge success.  Friday, August 2nd saw 51 entries as this night was reserved for the vintage riders.  We also had our second annual post race pit party where the riders and their crews were treated to complimentary food and beverages.  The following night saw 146 entries made up of both vintage and modern classes.  The track crew spent the week prior to the event prepping the track and the facility, and by Saturday night, there was a 10' wide groove around the track which offered plenty of traction.  Even better was that we ran the heats in a little over three and a half hours.  We have already requested to host two rounds of the AMA Vintage Dirt Track Series in 2020, on the same weekend.
Our next event is Saturday August 24th  which is our Quad Shootout with $1000 going to the winner of the Open Quad Class, Tear It up Racing and Layne Nelson have teamed up to put up $400 to win the Youth Quad Class.  Originally we scheduled our Vet 30+ Night for August 31st, and totally missing that this is Labor Day weekend and the legendary Springfield Mile which is a doubleheader this year.  There is no event on 8/31, and we will also be putting up $100 to the winner of the Vet 30+ Class on August 24th.
Please note that 465 Eastbound is going to be closed from I-65 to I-70 from August 9th through August 24, and then 465 Southbound will be closed from I-70 on the east side to I-65 from September 6th through September 24th.  Be sure to <Read Here> for more details.
Construction on the TT track started on Sunday, August 11th.  The TT track will be utilized on for our  triple-header with the Midwest Extreme Dirt Track National Series.  Friday, September 6th will see action on the oval, and then on Saturday the 7th, and Sunday the 8th the quads will take to the TT track.  Next on the schedule is Vintage Heavy Night on September 21st with $100 (per cylinder) going to the winner of the Vintage Heavy Class.  Our final event of the month will see the winner of the 250 Money class taking home $500 for their efforts on the 28th.

October is another unique month in that the Mid-America crew is promoting two nights of racing at Plymouth Speedway in Plymouth, IN on Saturday, October 12th and Sunday the 13th.  Both nights will feature the regular Mid-America classes and will also be the final two rounds of the 2019 AMA Vintage Dirt Track National Series.  October 19th is Vintage Light Night, with a $100 bonus being awarded to the winner of the Vintage Light Class.  The season ends the following week on October 26th with our 11th annual Halloween race.  The winner of the Open Bike class will receive $500 for their efforts.

New Shirts & Hoodies
We will have new t-shirts and hoodies available starting with our August 2nd event.  Both t-shirts and hoodies will be available in sizes Medium through XXL. We sold every t-shirt that we had during the Vintage weekend, so be sure to not delay in getting one at the next event!

Directions to Mid-America
I-Phone and Android users can search for Mid-America Speedway on Google Maps.  Due to the current construction in and around Indianapolis, this is the best way to get to the track.  If you don't have an I-Phone or Android device, Mid-America Speedway is located at the southeast  corner of Indianapolis at the Marion County Fairgrounds.  From 465, take exit 49 and go to the first light and turn left, continue approximately 3/4 of a mile, and go over the overpass.  Bear to the left at the base of the overpass, go past the main entrance to the stop sign, and turn left on Fisher road.  Go approximately 1/4 mile and enter through gate 5.

About Mid-America Speedway

Located inside Indianapolis' Marion County Fairgrounds, Mid-America Speedway is excited to be entering our 12th season in 2019.  Constructed in early 2008, and growing with each event, Mid-America is consistently in national headlines as the  Midwest's premier short track and renowned for the top pro riders that hone their skills on a regular basis.  Year over year promotion and  word of mouth have gotten the word out resulting in both spectator and rider attendance driving upward, up twenty five percent since 2010.
