ND Development Fund approves $3 Million for Cerilon to build $2.8 Billion Project in Williams County

News Release - Gov. Doug Burgum and the North Dakota Department of Commerce announced Thursday, October 14, that the North Dakota Development Fund has approved initial support for Cerilon Inc. to develop a major gas-to-liquids (GTL) complex in North Dakota, with the initial phase estimated at $2.8 billion. The Development Fund Board today approved $3 million in initial developmental capital to Cerilon GTL Inc., a subsidiary of Calgary, Albert-based Cerilon Inc., for the GTL complex, with further financial support anticipated. Read More

Community invited to Williston Square Update

News Release - The City of Williston will host a Williston Square Update Meeting from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27 at the Williston Area Recreation Center. The meeting will include updates on construction progress, retail, and the Sanford Health project. Light, pre-packaged refreshments will be available and face masks are strongly recommended for in-person attendance. Read More
STAR Fund Community Enhancement Applications

Williston Economic Development - The Williston City Commission has announced that the Williston STAR Fund is now accepting applications for the 2021 Community Enhancement (CE) grant program. The commission approved up to $50,000 for requests at its meeting on October 12, 2021. The CE grant program offers financial assistance for eligible nonprofit projects and community activities that improve the quality of life in the Williston trade region. Some of the past recipients include Entertainment Inc!, Family Crisis Shelter, Save the Maah Daah Hey and Williston Council for the Aging.  Read More
Klug wins North Dakota Library Association's Champion Award

Williston Herald - Williston Mayor Howard Klug received a surprise at Tuesday’s City Commission meeting, being honored with the North Dakota Library Association’s Champion Award. Each year the NDLA takes nominations for the award, with individuals across the state being recognized as supporters of the state’s libraries. Klug was nominated by Williston Community Library Director Andrea Placher, who said there were many reason why he stood out as a Library Champion. Read More
Burgum kicks off Main Street Summit

News Release - Gov. Doug Burgum delivered opening remarks to kick off the 2021 Main Street ND Summit on Tuesday, October 12, emphasizing the importance of building smart, efficient infrastructure that allows communities to differentiate themselves so they can attract and retain a 21st century workforce and attract new investment. Burgum welcomed participants to this year’s summit at the Rustad Recreation Center in West Fargo and provided insight into both the physical elements of infrastructure and the critical need to grow a next-generation community with economic development, workforce and leadership development. Read More

Williston Economic Development - The Economic Development Governor’s Choice Awards were presented at the Economic Development Association of North Dakota Fall Conference in West Fargo on Wednesday, October 13. EDND Board President Shawn Wenko and Governor Burgum presented the awards, which honor economic development professionals, organizations and projects making a significant impact on communities and regions in North Dakota. Williston Herald - The Williston Area Chamber of Commerce and Williston Economic Development office hosted the 1 Million Cups gathering at Caffeinated in Williston, with featured speakers Alex Johnson and Brittany Kilgore. Held every month, the 1 Millions Cups event allows entrepreneurs to highlight their business or present business ideas to the local community and learn how those around them can support their business in it’s growth.
