This year we have two candidates who put their names in the hat and are looking to join our Board of Directors, and one director (Ilene Diamond) who was appointed by the board in September 2024, who needs to be ratified by the membership, and is also running for election in this three year term. Please take a moment to read their bios below:

Prospective Director Bios

Shelby Howland, Goshen

I’ve been living and working around the Hilltowns my entire life. Over that time, I’ve been in a number of different trades, from farming to tree work to excavation. I’ve been running my own business on and off since I was 17, but for the past nine years, I’ve been focused on construction. Since I moved to Goshen in 2021, I’ve especially focused on excavation work. My connection to the Creamery goes way back—I started there as a dishwasher when I was 17. As I moved on to other jobs, I kept swinging by to grab lunch between tasks. Now, I’m excited to join the board and do my part to help the Creamery thrive for years to come.

Patti Waters, Shelburne Falls

I have lived and worked in Franklin County since 1976 and value this little corner of the world. My career has focused on food and cooperative business, working in the natural and organic sector for 40 years. For many of those years, I was a general manager of the Franklin Community Cooperative, currently based in Greenfield. After leaving that career, I attended Mount Holyoke College and now work at Mohawk Trail Regional School. I bring community, spirit, organizational and communication skills, and a desire for inclusive communities to the Old Creamery Cooperative.

Ilene Diamond, Cummington

I moved to the Cummington area with my cat, Tippytip in 2021. Transitioning from a lifetime of living in a big city, I am loving the peacefulness of the woods and my wild perennial garden, listening to birds from my screen porch, and learning about all of it. I also really enjoy having coffee and hanging out with friends and neighbors at the Old Creamery Coop. I’ve found a home away from home with a vibrant and caring community at the Creamery. I see how important a hub such as this is to a special place like the Hilltowns. I am pleased to be able to serve as a member of the Coop’s Board.

Meet the Candidates

We encourage everyone to meet them yourself!! If you're available there will be a "Meet the Candidates" on

April 13th, from 4-6pm, in the Creamery Café. Come on down and say hello, hang out, and chat about the Co-op.
