WEEKLY E-NEWS
from Christ Church Episcopal
“Christ has no body now but yours. No hands, no feet on earth but yours. Yours are the eyes through which he looks compassion on this world. Yours are the feet with which he walks to do good. Yours are the hands through which he blesses all the world. Yours are the hands, yours are the feet, yours are the eyes, you are his body. Christ has no body now on earth but yours.” ― Teresa of Avila

Learning Community Series has one more session and you don't want to miss it
Over the past year, we have been in prayerful discernment regarding the future use of our facilities and the gift of land given to the church in 2009. The Learning Series is a way to gain greater insights into how new communities are developed, the ways in which we heed the call to “love our neighbors” through community engagement, and how we can grow our faith and spiritual resilience as we travel this path.

Final Session: “God’s Good Work—Engaging Our Neighbors & Growing Together
Wednesday, October 16, 6:30–8:00 PM, Library
  • Content: The wise use of the land enables us to grow and build our community to look more like God’s kingdom, the beloved community. As we do this work, we will build relationship with our neighbors by honoring their voices and we will strengthen our bonds with one another within CCE. Engaging our neighbors and relying on one another are spiritual exercises that enable spiritual growth.
  • Presenters: Laura Lafayette & Rev. Shirley Smith Graham

Submit your sighting of CCE doing "God's New Thing Together"
God is always doing a new thing, as the prophet Isaiah pointed out. At Christ Church, there are verdant examples of us answering the call to ministry again and again as we do God's thing together.

Where have you witnessed God's work at Christ Church? We invite you to share these sightings -- small and large -- as part of our stewardship ministry. We'll be displaying your stories this fall. You can submit a card in the milling area of our worship building or simply email your brief thoughts to our clergy.
