FCK–FRÉDÉRICK GAUTIER
Tools to Eat
10th April

CLARITY HAYNES Portals
Through 13th April
New York, New York
| Haynes’ new body of work focuses on the moment a person is brought into the world. Not the idealized, sanitized birth that is seen (or more pointedly not seen) in art history, but rather the bloody, raw, uncensored labor of it. Haynes continues to subvert the portraiture tradition through her Crowning series. | |

“Just in time for the next stage in the struggles of our collective human evolution in the City of Los Angeles – as what could be a new ground zero of cultural, political and climate catastrophes, both real and imagined. Just as Goya created The Disasters of War, I am here to paint Los Angeles’ total collapse,” says the TOM House Artist-In-Residence. | | |

Total Tattoo: Tell us about Tom of Finland Foundation.
ToFF: Tom and Durk set up the Foundation in 1984, so we will be celebrating our 40th anniversary this year. We’re a nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect, preserve and promote erotic art. All that we do is made possible by the donations we receive. "I want to encourage all who read this that Pete continues to need our financial and emotional assistance. I personally can tell you that I am unsure if I would of had the willpower to go through what he has already. He looks great, feels okay but is now once again having to undertake more hellish treatment in order to survive."
