SCCF Celebrates a Virtual Annual Meeting
Each year in August, SCCF gathers board members, volunteers, donors, and close supporters to celebrate the conclusion of our fiscal year in an annual public meeting. With many local event locations limiting space due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the SCCF board decided to share this year's wrap up in a video format. You can watch this four-minute video to learn about SCCF's fiscal year 2020 and hear our plans for the upcoming year.

Designated Grant Presentations
In August, the SCCF office temporarily turned into the North Pole as we distributed designated fund grant checks to nonprofits across Steuben County. These grants are awarded annually through funds established by donors with a passion for providing permanent support to one or more nonprofits. This year, SCCF was able to award more than $320,000 in designated fund grants to 74 organizations. At a time when many nonprofits are struggling with canceled events and difficulty fundraising, these donor-established funds are more important than ever.

This year, Kaleb Gannon, a senior at Fremont High School, will serve as president of FIST, Forever Improving Steuben County Together. FIST is a youth-led philanthropic organization supported by the Steuben County Community Foundation and consists of 8th–12th grade students from Angola, Fremont, and Hamilton schools. During his four years in FIST, Kaleb discovered that his favorite part of Steuben County was the people. He shared, “Hands down there is no better county in any state. I have never met so many people willing to do so much for one another for nothing in return.” In the future, Kaleb plans to pursue his dream job as a prosthodontist.
