#323: Covid-19, $1.2M, Cannabis, Pyramids, and more tech

It's been an unusual week, to say the least, but we still have news from our tech ecosystem (for now, anyway).

Late Breaking: As of Monday evening, the County of Santa Cruz issued a restriction for county residents to shelter in place . Earlier today, six other Bay Area counties -- San Francisco, Santa Clara, San Mateo, Marin, Contra Costa, Alameda -- announced similar restrictions.

Also Late Breaking: Cruz One is a newly-formed local volunteer organization that provides technical support to the Santa Cruz County community during times of crisis such as the Covid-19 outbreak. Cruz One’s goal is to facilitate remote access for students and workers in an effort to minimize the impact of mandated quarantines. Their first priority is to enable the educational system to provide remote based learning, including technology support for K-12 schools and their teachers and students, such as enabling video based training. Their second priority is to enable our community to work remotely. Many small businesses are not equipped to transition and support remote work. Reach out to Cruz One to get help or offer help .

Cruz Foam not only completed a $1.2M seed round, but the clean-tech startup added industry veteran Toby Corey to their board.

Using smart-garden technology from agtech startup Aeroasis, 3 Bros Grow is the first cultivation/retail dispensary operation in the world to implement an app-controlled retail clone shelf system in their retail space.
