I committed to a more frequent practice because, in many ways, I needed to heal. & admittedly, I wanted to learn how to do some neat yoga tricks, like the cool kids. :-) Yoga is a unique wellness practice because it offers more than just burning calories, increasing flexibility, and building strength. A daily yoga practice with experienced instructors provides a deeper understanding of how the body works. Wellness tips for the Summer!

We all want a fun, successful summer & here are some tips to keep you vibrant & ready for the sun!


  1. Stay Hydrated: As temperatures rise, it's crucial to stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water throughout the day and consider incorporating hydrating foods like watermelon, cucumber, and coconut water into your diet or grab some LMNT before your next practice!
  2. Protect Your Skin: Apply sunscreen with a high SPF before heading outdoors to protect your skin from harmful UV rays. Wear a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and lightweight, breathable clothing to shield yourself from the sun.
  3. Stay Active Outdoors & Indoors : Take advantage of the longer daylight hours and pleasant weather by engaging in outdoor activities. Go for a hike, swim, bike ride, or practice yoga in nature. For indoor activities hangout with us at Southern Om we offer various yoga classes & workshops that strengthen your vitality ! Sun salutations at sunrise or sunset can be especially refreshing.
  4. Eat Fresh, Seasonal Foods: Opt. for fresh fruits and vegetables that are in season during the summer. These foods are often packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Think berries, leafy greens, tomatoes, and summer squashes.
  5. Prioritize Self-Care: Summer can be a busy time, so make sure to carve out time for self-care. Take a relaxing bath, read a book by the pool, meditate, or try journaling. Allow yourself to unwind and recharge.
