#5 On the road
with James Taylor and Jackson Browne!
Hello GuacFund Fantasy Tour Members!
This week we continue on our "Tabling Tour" with Jackson Browne and James Taylor, visiting with the great non-profits our very own Paula has coordinated to table at each show! If you're not able to catch a stop on the actual tour, join us as we follow along...
Last night, August 21st, we were at Bethel Woods in Bethel, New York, with Catskill Mountainkeeper. Their mission is to protect our region's wild lands and natural resources, support smart development to sustainably grow our economy, nurture healthy communities, and accelerate the transition to a 100% clean energy future in New York and beyond. -- Learn more about their work at: www.catskillmountainkeeper.org
Tonight, August 22nd, we are in Syracuse, New York, visiting with the Alliance for a Green Economy (AGREE). AGREE works for safe, affordable energy and the development of a green economy in New York State. Their goal is a prosperous, safe, and healthy New York, fulfilling the promise of conservation, energy efficiency, and safe, clean renewable energy sources to end our state's reliance on wasteful and environmentally destructive forms of energy. The Alliance works to promote this transition to a carbon-free and nuclear-free future and educates the public about alternatives that can revitalize the economy and safeguard human health and the environment.
After a day off (whew!), we'll be in Sarasota Springs, New York, learning about HeatSmart. HeatSmart Capital Region is a community initiative funded by the New York State Research and Development Authority and managed by the Capital District Regional Planning Commission, which supports residents and businesses in exploring ways to improve how they heat and cool their buildings. The campaign will connect you with local heating and cooling experts who offer the latest in energy efficient technology, such as geothermal systems, cold climate air source heat pumps, and hot water heat pumps. If you're considering a new heating or cooling system, are interested in finding out how to save energy in your home, or simply wondering what you can do to help address climate change, this campaign is for you! -- Learn details at: https://heatsmartcapitalregion.com/
If you're lucky enough to be at a show on this tour, please stop by and say hi to these groups, learn more about what they're doing to help us all build a better world, and offer your support! We've worked with these organizations for years, and their important missions benefit us all.
And most of you probably already know this, but last week Jackson & James announced more concert dates! Fan presales begin August 24th at 10am local time... check Jackson's website for details, at www.jacksonbrowne.com. We say YAY!!
Thank you everyone, for your on-going support of the Guacamole Fund, and of all of these incredible organizations "on tour" !
Peace,
Tom, Paula, Jeffrey and Diane
