Kairos 2024

is just days away!

We here at the Five Petal Friday World Headquarters are working overtime in our preparation for Kairos, which begins this Sunday, June 23rd. We've got our printers running constantly, truckloads of supplies being delivered every minute, and the intern is meticulously taste-testing each and every candy bar for Junk Food City. To our participants, we can't wait to see you at Roanoke College! To everyone else, please keep the Kairos community in your prayers this coming week as we engage with each other in this intentional Christian community of learning and fun.

Announcements & Reminders

--> Do you have updates on where your graduating High Schoolers are headed in the fall? Please let our campus ministry leaders know using this form. Even if our new graduate is headed to the workforce or military or gap year or something else other than college, having this information will help us keep track of the youth who have been formed by our congregations!

--> ROANOKE COLLEGE LUTHERAN VISIT DAY will be on Saturday, August 31, 2024 (10am to noon) for any young person who is discerning whether higher education may be in their future after high school. PRE-REGISTRATION is not required, but it will help us plan space and supplies for the day. Click here to pre-register!

--> We are just a couple of weeks from the ELCA Triennial Youth Gathering, which this time is meeting in New Orleans, July 16-20! More than 13,000 youth and adults will be present for mass gathering fellowship, learning, and worship, as well as service to the community. Please add the Gathering to your weekly prayers for safe travels and spiritual refreshment!

Happy Pride Month, pt. 2!!!

The Tapestry Team is planning to host a virtual Pride Worship Service on the evening of June 30th. Watch for it to go live on the Virginia Synod Facebook page and the Virginia Synod Youtube. (Last year's Pride Worship Service is already posted there!)
