News for Illinois Taxpayers

Hi Laura .July already?!? We hope you are all enjoying your summer, it’s going way too fast! There are a lot of things happening this summer, so let’s get to it.

Illinois taxpayers may be eligible for direct payment of $50 per person and $100 per dependent (up to 3). This applies to single taxpayers making less than $200,000 and married taxpayers filing jointly making less than $400,000. This rebate is only available to those who have filed an IL tax return.

Illinois will also be sending one-time property tax rebates of 5% of your tax bill (up to $300). If you have not filed an IL tax return, there will be a worksheet that can be completed to qualify for the rebate. We will share more information as it becomes available. Both rebates will need to be certified by the IDOR, a process that will begin after July 5^th.

This month’s video talks about non-cash charitable donations. If you make such donations, it is important that you track them. Please use the tracking sheet on our website. You will find it on the Client Resources page, under Forms & Worksheets. Please email Denise if you would prefer a digital copy. If you have any information saved on the It’s Deductible site, please save it elsewhere, as the site will be shutting down 10/17/22.
