Dear Model Roundup Customers:

Welcome to the Model Roundup April 15th, 2017 Email Briefing to our select customers. We use this forum to keep you updated on new kits as they are released and other hobby related issues, which we feel, might be of interest to you.

if you do not wish to receive these periodic briefings, please take a moment and use the simple unsubscribe buttons below.

Our headliners this month include the retro-reissue of the 1957 Ford Fairlane (3 'n 1) kit. Most all of the original parts are either restored or retooled. Similarly, the "Superbug" Gasser (4 'n 1), a kit that has not seen the light of day since the early 1970's has been pieced back together and is available now. Many of you remember John Mueller one of the chief AMT product designers going back to the George Barris days in the early 1960's. John recently went through all the old AMT tooling for Round2, and while he cannot reveal what he found, he indicated to us that he discovered some rare old jewels like the "Superbug" that had been previously considered lost forever.  Who know what else may rise out of the old archived tooling banks!

We continue to accept pre-orders for the new Revell 1966 Suburbans and   Foose 1956 Ford Pickups. Please remember that pre-orders bill in advance and will delay any items on the order with them. We urge you to order currently available items separately from pre-order items. We always stock plenty, so pre-orders are not necessary but certainly welcome.  We are looking for the Foose '56 pickup in early June, and the Suburban is now set for early July.  These are just the highlights please continue through the Briefing and discover more new kits and aftermarket items including a whole bunch of new releases from Gofer Racing and the new Masking Markers from Molotow.

Speaking of Gofer Racing, they continue to expand their parts line, and have recently added Battery Cables and Coolant Hoses. Many of you have already grown to love their simple yet authentic looking pre-wired distributors. To see all the Parts offerings from Gofer please visit the Gofer Racing Detailing Parts link.  As part of adding Gofer Racing Parts, we are closing out Preston's Part's Distributors at 30% off. This may be your last chance to get a pre-wired distributor for under 4 bucks. These will be sold first come, first served while they last. We have live inventory on our web site, so when a color sells out, it will no longer appear on the web site.

In addition to the new Gofer Parts, don't miss the new Gofer Racing Decals listed below. The Gofer makes high-quality silk screened decals, and he manufactures all his parts and decals exclusively in the good ole USA!

After you have browsed the Briefing, remember that you can always get a synopsis of all the new kits as they arrive by , clicking on  "New Arrivals" from any page on our web site. To review and pre-order kits arriving in the next couple of months, you can always click on "Coming Soon"  from any page on our web site. (Just Arrived)

Only the Kats at AMT could dream up such a wild, shortened V-Dub Superbug Gasser! This one's been "out of print" since the early 1970s, but the Kats have pieced it back together. Now it's better than ever! With expanded decal artwork, optional tinted windows and fresh gleaming chrome parts, modelers will "bug out" when they get their hands on this Retro Deluxe gem! It's even got radically-retro Firestone Supreme "blue stripe/red stripe" pad-printed tires, not to mention beautiful Goodyear Blue Streak drag slicks! It even includes a special reproduction of the vintage original fold-together drag strip display base! It's Wunderbar!

RMX-4441 1957 Chevy Sedan 'Black Widow' (2 'n 1) (1:25) $23.50
(Just Arrived)
*PACKED WITH CORRECT BODY*

Thanks to its low curb weight and high curb appeal, the Chevy 150 was extremely popular with hot rodders. Chevy embraced the racing pedigree of the 150 with the "Black Widow" racing stock car. These non-production cars were built by Southern Engineering and Development Company-a special builder set up by GM. All "Black Widows" were based on the 1957 150 Utility Sedan. Many proved highly successful, with wins at the National Championship and elsewhere. Kit features option to build as factory stock 150 Utility Sedan or Black Widow, choice of stock single carb or fuel injection engine, six lug stock wheels with dog dish hub caps, and soft black tires.

HASA-21266 Nissan Bluebird 1600 SSS (1:24) $44.90
(Just Arrived)

The East African Safari is one of the most difficult rally races in the world. Held in Kenya, racers face rough roads, unpredictable weather, and long timed hauls. Some people look at winning an East African Safari Rally as winning three normal rallies, which makes it all the more exemplary that Edgar Herrmann won two rallies back to back in 1970 and 1971. For 1970, he drove a Nissan Bluebird 1600-one of the most reliable marks of cars available.

In 1957, Don Yenko started selling aftermarket performance car parts at the dealership started by his father in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. In addition to the dealership, Don Yenko had an active and very successful racing career driving Corvettes. It's no wonder his specially modified Corvettes were so popular. Kit features detailed 427 Big Block engine with carburetor options, two sets of wheels, choice of exhaust systems, and full decals.

  RMX-4429 1978 Mazda RX7 (2 'n 1) (1:24) $23.50
(Early May, 2017)

The Mazda RX-7 introduced sports car buyers to the benefits of the rotary engine. Unlike a normal piston engine, the horsepower in a rotary engine is generated by the moving parts all going in the same direction. The result is a smooth, light engine. In the RX-7 the engine is placed behind the front axle for an even 50/50 weight distribution. Kit features two sets of wheels, detailed twin rotor rotary engine, optional seats, spoilers, and wheel flares.

(Early July, 2017)

The rich history of the Chevy Suburban stretches back almost as far as the history of Chevy itself. It is, in fact, the longest continuously used nameplate that is still in production. It's a station wagon based on a pickup truck chassis and it has grown and evolved as the Chevy truck line has advanced. This 1966 version is from the fifth generation Suburban started in 1960. Kit features detailed 283ci V-8 engine, two rows of seats, whitewall tires, and spare tire.

Stroker McGurk-The Hot Rodder's Buddy (1:6) $24.90
 (May, 2017)

Stroker McGurk, the Hot Rodder's Buddy was a clever character created by renowned photographer and artist, Tom Medley. Stroker could be seen regularly, in the comic strips Medley created for Hot Rod Magazine. In the 1960s, MPC forever immortalized the character in plastic model kit form and now, after more than four decades of being out of production, McGurk is back! The first model from the series to return is "Surf Rod." It's a hilarious "action" kit featuring Stroker riding a surfboard powered by a big dragster motor! He's holding the reigns with one hand and shifting into high gear with the other!

MLW-1M 2mm "Fine" Tip Liquid Masking Marker $11.90

MLW-2M 4mm "Round" Tip Liquid Masking Marker $12.90

Masking without leaving any residues: Application of liquid masking fluid has never been easier. Draw precise lines with the ready-to-use marker, without using a brush. Like this, white outlines and gaps become visible on nearly all surfaces. Painting over the dry masking liquid is therefore possible with nearly all acrylic-, water- or alcohol-based inks. Masking liquid can be removed without leaving residues for two days after drying.

MLW-101 1mm "Fine" Tip Liquid Chrome Mirror Effect Marker $10.90

MLW-102 2mm "Medium" Tip Liquid Chrome Mirror Effect Marker $10.90

MLW-103 4mm Tip Liquid Chrome Mirror Effect Marker $12.90

These chrome markers available with 1mm, 2mm, and 4mm tips are creating quite a buzz in the hobby. Modelers report, "this is real mirror like chrome without all the prep and undercoating required by competing products." The markers are refillable, and we plan of stocking the refill liquid later this month.
