$5K Microgrant Program for Small Businesses

The Nextdoor Kind Foundation is offering $5,000 “Keep It Local” microgrants for small businesses.


Applications for the one-time microgrant are due by 8:59 pm (PST) on September 1.


Along with grant money, select small businesses will obtain:


·        Public recognition for their contributions to our community

·        Participation in 1-2 events with fellow winners to share their successes and lessons learned

·        Ad credits to promote their local business on the Nextdoor Platform

·        Access to trainings on how to thrive as a small business, including Nextdoor’s Recession Playbook


Certain criteria and eligibility apply. The grant program is made possible through Nextdoor’s partnership with the NAACP and Hello Alice. Hello Alice is a free platform that supports small business owners to learn and grow. Simply click the “apply now” button to create a Hello Alice profile and access the application.

New South OC Workforce Development Center

The South County One-Stop Workforce Development is a new center that provides comprehensive no-cost employment and training services for job seekers, youth, dislocated workers, people with disabilities, veterans, and other community members facing barriers.


The center is located at 28202 Cabot Road, Suite 140. It’s open from 9 am to 7 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday and from 9 am to 8 pm on Wednesday.
