Small Business Assistance Grant Program: Not Too Late to Apply!
The City of Milpitas has launched the 2022 Milpitas Small Business Assistance Grant Program to support local businesses that have been negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic The $1,500,000 grant program is funded by the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and approved by the Milpitas City Council to assist Milpitas small businesses with resiliency and recovery efforts. The grant program will provide $5,000 grants and free technical assistance to over 280 Milpitas small businesses. With regional grant funding, the workforce boards of San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara Counties have launched a series of workshops to deliver Skillful, a set of tools and practices to help take employers step-by-step through writing skills-based job postings, reducing bias in the interview and selection process, improving retention, increasing diversity, and filling open positions faster. These workshops are offered at no cost!

Reminder: Santa Clara County Masking Requirements Stay the Same
While the State of California will lift its indoor masking requirement as of February 16, 2022, please know that this will not affect Santa Clara County businesses. SCC Public Health Department has issued a news release stating that the masking requirement will remain in effect for indoor settings. Santa Clara County is the only County in the Bay Area that will continue this requirement. Please click here to read full details of the news release.
