How did you get started in the industry?
30 year veteran of the communications space and have worked for a number of different manufacturers (ATT/Lucent/Avaya, AudioCodes, ShoreTel, Nectar Monitoring Software,
Redsky, and a few others)
How long have you been working in the 911 services specialization?
4 of my 30 years have been focused on 911 solutions
Why did you decide to leave Red Sky, a leader in the 911 services, for 911 Inform?
I left Redsky 9 years ago for another opportunity, but my knowledge from working there was what helped me know that 911inform was “game changing” and uniquely different from all other 911 alerting platforms.
Why should 911 Inform be considered by folks who are responsible for public safety?
- We offer a complete alerting platform for all 911 calls including cell phones , not just those from the PBX/Cloud solution which account for about 15% of all calls to 911 centers. This an exclusive function of 911inform!
- We offer an emergency management platform that leverages all a customer’s safety technology then can be used by a customer’s safety personal during an emergency event and also shared with public safety as well.
- This allows that platform to become a single pain of glass with tools that help make for a faster/safer response and open to doors of opportunity to deal with threats and emergencies of all types.
What do you think makes 911 Inform superior to its competitors?
- Compliance for 911 has been done the same way for 20 years. We’ve created some very unique ways to ensure proper routing given that VoIP has thrown a huge hurdle at us and that old school way of doing things.
- We’ve also found a way to offload the responsibility from IT/Telecom and made it easier to become and stay compliant.
- Our cell 911 alerting capability is completely unique and since its 85% plus of all 911 calls it’s a compelling reason to choose us.
- We integrate to all types of phones systems and safety technology today which gives us limitless possibilities.
- Sharing safety tech with public safety is a “game changer” in terms of the quality of the response they can provide. Just ask them after they see how it works!
- There is NO other solution as compelling and well thought through as our solution.
What's an interesting fact our clients should know about Jay Robinson?
- I love the technology business because it is ever changing. Helping customers understand new tech and new possibilities is extremely rewarding and I’ve always enjoyed that teaching aspect.
- When you can do that with something that saves lives it's extremely rewarding!!!
