We are delighted to announce Neville Hormuz as our new Interim Executive Director. His oversight of this important transition for our 94-year-strong organization represents a beautiful opportunity to take our lifesaving programs and services to ever higher levels of performance and success.

Known for our compassionate care and innovative programs, with the support of our amazingly generous, animal-adoring community, HSSC has made a remarkable impact in animal welfare. In the past year alone, we achieved a 97% Lives Saved rate and placed close to 1,800 animals in safe, loving homes.

Board President Lisa Barnes said: “This marks an exciting chapter in the Humane Society’s journey. Neville brings a unique combination of community engagement, leadership experience, and a deep passion for people and animal welfare. Together with our skilled staff, dedicated volunteers, and generous supporters, we are poised to build an even brighter future for Sonoma County’s animals and their families.”

“It’s a privilege to join an organization that embodies compassion, collaboration, and service to our community in everything it does. The dedication of this team is inspiring, and together we’ll continue creating impactful programs that ensure every animal is safe, loved, and supported."

Neville is a lifelong Sonoma County resident and owner of Loud and Clear Music in Cotati. He has been an advocate for animals for over a decade. Under his leadership, Loud and Clear Music has raised over $120,000 for local nonprofits, mostly animal welfare and schools. His commitment to the community shines through his work as a musician, licensed contractor, and advocate for education and rescue initiatives.

Neville's goals during this interim period are to deepen the organization’s community partnerships, maximize the quality of our animal care and shelter animal quality of life, and support this great HSSC team in their lifesaving work while we conduct our search for a permanent executive leader. With the continued support of our community, through collaboration and innovation, we will continue to move HSSC to ever higher levels of service to animals and their people.

Neville’s door is open - he is happy to answer your questions.

Thank you for your patience - it may take him a moment to read and thoughtfully respond to your inquiries.
