As our nerves manifested in conversation, Jim gestured toward Dean, a seasoned triathlete in his 60s who had conquered the same race six consecutive times. Dean, sensing our apprehension, generously shared his wisdom. "Don't view the triathlon as an overwhelming elephant; instead, break it down into manageable parts—the trunk, the legs, and the tail," he advised. Essentially, his counsel encouraged us to set smaller, achievable goals.
As we embark on a new year with renewed determination, let's heed Dean's timeless advice. As he suggested for the triathlon, let's dissect our goals or resolutions into bite-sized pieces. By doing so, we increase the likelihood of success, making each step forward a triumph in itself.
