ALBEMARLE COUNTY, VA - At approximately 11:30 pm, on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, Albemarle County Police Department responded to a call of a shooting in the 3200 block of Jefferson Mill Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male with a gunshot wound to his arm. Officers rendered first aid and the adult male was transported to UVA Medical Center in stable condition.

Upon further investigation and statements from the female on scene, the adult male was placed under arrest and transported to jail after his release from UVA Medical Center. Mr. Jonathan Shelton Hensley, 34, of Scottsville, is currently being held at Albemarle Charlottesville Regional Jail, charged with the following:

• 18.2-282 Brandishing
• 18.2-57 Simple assault & battery

This was an isolated domestic incident and remains under investigation.
