AGC MA AWARDED 2ND PLACE IN 2018 NASA PROGRAM

The National AGC Safety Awards (NASA) program has been an ongoing effort since 1991 to offer AGC members an opportunity to evaluate their safety record. NASA compares an AGC member's safety record with other AGC members according to the member size and construction type. Additionally, NASA provides a great opportunity for contractor members who have excellent safety records to compete for nationally recognized awards.

Claimants Need Not Record Complaints to Enforce Lien Dissolution Bonds Under  G.L. c. 254 § 14
Contributed by Kevin Mortimer  and  Tony Starr, Mintz Levin

In a recent decision, the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts (SJC) has held that a contractor seeking to enforce a lien dissolution bond under G.L. c. 254 § 14 need not record an attested to copy of its complaint with the Registry of Deeds. In City Electric Supply Co. v. Arch Insurance Co., the SJC vacated a decision of Norfolk Superior Court-refusing to apply the recording requirement of G.L. c. 254 § 5 to G.L. c. 254 § 14.
