Ministry Fair & Newcomer's Reception

Sunday, March 5th after the 9:30 am service

We will have one service only this Sunday. Following the service we will hold our Ministry Fair and Newcomer's Reception. If you have been at St. Philip's for less than three years, please join us so we can greet and welcome you!

We like to thank the St. Philip's Knights for hosting the reception and please bring a dish to share with all.

Annual Parish Meeting a Success!

Annual Parish Meeting a Success!

Thank you to everyone for attending. The Rev. Marlene Forrest, Thomas Beatty, Moses Golatt and Vickie Seymour highlighted the stories from 2022. This includes things like positive and encouraging changes, treasurer's 2022 budget summary, accomplishments as a church body, voted for the new vestry members, had fellowship and ended in prayer.

The role of a warden has many dimensions and many are canonical and legal. Thomas Beatty and Moses Golatt served this past year with grace and love and there is an insufficient amount of space to write everything which could be said in thanksgiving about their ministry this past year.

We often hear the role of the Senior Warden as the "Rector's Warden," and Thomas supported our rector this past year in administration, prayer, listening, providing guidance, and in his leadership of the Vestry. Thomas, thank you for your ministry, discernment, and care as you faithfully executed the role of Senior Warden this past year.

The Junior Warden is often known as the "People's Warden" and often takes care of the building and administration. Against common belief, there is not a cot set up in the building for the Junior Warden to sleep at night, however, you could have mistaken that for the number of times you would see him at the building checking things out. You can thank Moses for many successful project this year from HVAC fixes to property clean up and beautification. Moses, thank you for your ministry, and care of the property and staff as Junior Warden this past year.

And we save the best for last. We give lots of appreciation and love to Vickie Seymour for her faithfulness in serving as our Church Treasurer! Vickie, thank you for your ministry to St. Philip's!

There are so many people who do so much for St. Philip's. Stewardship includes gifts of time and talent (in addition to 'treasure') to the mission of Christ. The Rector would like to recognize this important work, celebrate some of our unsung heroes, and extend our gratitude for all the stewardship offered here.

Volunteering is a Sign of God's Love.

Come to the Ministry Fair on Sunday, March 5th after the 9:30 am and learn more about God's love.

Pastoral Care Commission Needs You!

The pastoral care commission at St. Philip’s seeks for us to “love one another as I have loved you.” If you have a passion for caring for and serving others, we need your time and talent as we seek to respond to our parishioners with love, support, and care. What that support and care looks like will be up to those of us on the commission. A phone call, a meal dropped off, transportation to a doctor’s appointment... PLEASE prayerfully consider sharing YOUR time and talent with this commission and reach out to Sherrard Gardner.
