I promised you I would highlight local arts groups during this no-live-events time...ones whose events I would normally PICK for my blog.
Herewith is my "
(Almost) Daily Dose Arts PICKS
" round-up from last week (April 13-17). Click on each logo or image below for my write-ups.
Enjoy! And
be on the lookout each week for my email with the round-ups, or see them online Monday-Friday
here
. They'll keep coming as long as the doors are still closed...you know I love the arts and want to help them however I can!
I'm excited to announce that I am doing <another> virtual labyrinth walk at the Hines Center for Spirituality on <SATURDAY, APRIL 25 AT 10AM>.
Please click
here
for the link to register; you'll be sent the Zoom meeting info after that.
Please note that it is donation-based and we would appreciate any amount you can give
. We will be doing a
finger labyrinth
together in a creative way, so if you have one, please grab it. If not,
please download
this one in advance to print up or to use from your screen
.
And this week there are
two groovy virtual events I must share with you that hair artist
Melissa Noble brought to my attention:
➡️
"The Universe in Verse" is an annual event organized by one of my fave people I stalk --
Maria Popova
of
Brain Pickings
-- that features poetic readings of Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, Pablo Neruda, Mary Oliver, Wendell Berry (and many more!) performed by scientists, artists, astronauts, poets, Nobel laureates and Grammy winners. This year's event is this <SATURDAY, APRIL 25 AT 3:30PM> Houston time (central) and I look forward to being an annual fan.
Our city and our world will recover from the virus!
In the meantime: wash your hands, social distance, stay healthy, enjoy the arts digitally, and rest/rest/rest.
Sincerely,
Sarah Gish

P.S. If you want to
IGNITE YOUR LIFE! now or anytime, check out my "
12 Ways to Ignite Your Life Daily." I'm very proud of that list and hope it will help you live a better life.
Meditation, taking care of yourself, enjoying life and laughing -- plus more! -- is what will get us through this global pandemic.
