Taking a closer look at a yummy summer meal!
Some of our favorite traditional foods have gotten a bad wrap. I have become more and more suspicious when it comes to restrictive diets vilifying certain foods or food groups.

Most of our food problems come from what has been "done" to the food, not the foods themselves.

Dale and I are having burgers on the grill tonight with fresh tomato, lettuce, onion, and outrageously awesome local corn. Let's peel back the layers on these foods and encourage ourselves that not only will our taste buds be happy, but so will our bodies.

Is Eating Corn "Healthy"
Corn is one of the most widely eaten foods in the world. It’s also incredibly versatile. You’ll find it in baked goods and breads, popped as a snack, grilled on the cob, fed to cows, used to fuel cars, and as the base ingredient for a huge range of processed foods and additives. But is corn good for you? And how do you choose the healthiest corn to eat?

Tomatoes. Are they a fruit or a vegetable? But more importantly, are they good for you, or do they have hidden downsides? Here’s what to know about one of the world’s most widely-eaten plants.

Is grass-fed beef healthier than conventional beef? All told, the answer is a solid yes.

This is because grass-finished beef contains more nutrients, antioxidants, healthy fatty acids, may decrease inflammation and is much better for the environment and ecosystem than conventionally raised cows.
